The apartment they shared was fairly small. It was just large enough for the two. Sure, it only had one room, but Sirius didn't mind sleeping on the couch.

It was during one of those sleepless nights that Sirius was staring up at the ceiling, unable to sleep, when Remus entered the kitchen as quietly as he could. He was certain that Sirius was asleep and hadn't wanted to wake him so it was quite a shock to find the other standing behind him when he turned around from the cabinet he'd had his head in.

"Chocolate at midnight, Moony?"

Remus flushed and said defensively, "Candy is childhood, the best and brightest moments you wish could have lasted forever." He unwrapped the chocolate bar and broke a piece off to pop it into his mouth. "Chocolate reminds me of the time at Hogwarts we spent together, you might not know this but those were the best days of my life."

Sirius smiled at him softly. "Then could I have some?"

Remus nodded and broke a bit off. Neither had wanted to go to bed so they'd sat down on the couch together, talking about their days at Hogwarts. Remus ended up with his head rested on Sirius' shoulder as he yawned.

"You should get some rest, Moony."

"I'm not tired Padfoot." Remus muttered, sitting up straight and rubbing his eyes.

"You're lying." Sirius stood up and scooped Remus up. "Come on, off to bed."

Remus made a short sound of protest but allowed Sirius to carry him to his bedroom anyway. Sirius had tucked him into bed and was about to leave when a hand on his wrist stopped him. He turned to look at Remus whose bright green eyes were looking at him.

"Stay? I'll think tonight was just a dream otherwise."

Sirius nodded softly and climbed into the other side of the bed. He hugged Remus close and waited for the other to fall asleep. When Remus' breathing steadied Sirius smiled softly and pressed his lips to the werewolf's forehead. "Sweet dreams Moony."
