Title: Theodore's proposal revised.
I wrote this story for someone very special and we have been together for some time, I love you. Therefore, this is for you.

Theodore and Eleanor had been dating for some time. They have been dating for about three years now. One, warm star filled, night Theo and Ellie had been talking about love and marriage and What love meant to each other when Eleanor had a thought.
"Cookie?"
"Yes, buttercup?"
"You love me right?"
"Yes, Ellie I do love you, you know that." Theodore said sweetly.
"Well do you think we will stay together?" she said.
"Well, wI have been thinking about that. I can't see myself without you, a-and I love you. with all of my heart." Theodore started to feel nervous. His face starting to blush.
"Cookie? Are you asking me, what I think you are asking me?" Eleanor said in a surprised tone.
"Yes, my little green gumdrop." Without letting a second to pass. Theodore pulled out a guitar and started to play and sing to the blond pigtailed female chipmunk.
After the song...
Eleanor sat there with tears in her eyes, with wonder and amazement. Theodore has done something so thoughtful. Usually, Theodore would have to ask for help from his brothers. however, Eleanor could tell it was all him.
"Ellie I want to know if you want to marry me.".
Eleanor turned white as a ghost, took a big gulp, and smiled and blushed. Eleanor blushed as red as Alvin's hoodie. The two green-clad chipmunks sat quietly for some time just staring at each other, thinking: soaking in the moment.
There were several thoughts that ran through Eleanor's head leaving her speechless. Usually, Theodore would not have such courage. He must have felt strongly for her she thought. Eleanor knew Theodore loved her, but this was a whole another level for them.
Theodore stood there waiting several minutes. Theodore could feel a knot starting to form in his stomach. Also, his breathing getting shallow, and his head starting to feel light. Just when Theo's bravery was about to completely disappear Eleanor answered his question.
"Yes! Teddy, yes I will marry you." Eleanor said gleefully jumping into the air, cupping her hands together.
Theodor fainted in response. Eleanor rushed over.
"Theodore!" Eleanor screamed.
Eleanore sat Theodore up as he placed his hand on his head. Eleanor began an onslaught of questions to make sure Theodore was okay.
The next morning Eleanor and Theodore met at the local coffee house down the street. It was a bright and sunny morning, not a cloud was in the sky. Eleanor and Theo had a quiet breakfast. Ellie opted for a baguette with cinnamon and a mint mocha latte. Theodore decided on banana pancakes with an espresso topped with cinnamon. until Ellie looked up at Theodore while sipping on her drink. She then asked an important question.
"So when do you think we should tell our siblings?" she asked.
"Well let's go to your sisters and you can tell them over lunch."
"Then we can meet for dinner at Dave's and I can make Dave his favourite dinner".
Eleanor had finally finished her cup of coffee.
"Ok that sounds great" Eleanor stated
"but what do we do in between meals"? Theodore asked.
Eleanor smiled excitedly. "Well not to sound like Brittany but shopping"!
Eleanor and Theo went around town looking for a florist's and dress shops with not much luck. It was not much of a surprise that they had no clothes that would fit them. They, however, did get a few good ideas.
"This is going to be a lot more work than I had thought." Ellie said.
A few hours later, they arrived at the girls' tree house. Jeanette met them at the door.
"Well, you two look like you have been busy." Jeanette said with a huge smile on her face.
"Well, we have," "where is Brittany?" Ellie said.
"she is in her room, why what's going on?" Jeanette directed Eleanor with a nodded of her head.
"well, wait right there." Eleanor ran towards Brittany's room. "Brittany!" She yelled. "I need you to come down the stairs this is really important, Like you have a big date and your hair is frizzy important."
Brittany ran down the stairs in a panic, nearly falling.
"What's wrong Ellie?" "What's the problem?" Brittany said in a concerned tone.
"Well I- I have something v-very important to tell you. " Eleanor said quite nervously.
Jeanette gave her sister a concerned look. Eleanor took a deep breath a let out a rush of air out in one breath.
"Theo asked me to marry him." she said in a rush.
Then Eleanor started to head out the door. However, Brittany quickly grabbed her youngest sister's arm. Then reached over and slapped her in the face. Everyone was in shock. After the shock wore off all three of the girls took a minute. Ellie knew Brittany did not mean to do that. Brittany did it out of shock.
" sorry, It is just I did not think that my younger sister would be getting married before me. That is all." Brittany said in a bewildered tone.
Brittany hung her head, smiled looked at her youngest sister, and then gave her a hug. Then slapped Eleanor once in the arm.
"don't even do that again." Brittany pointed to her green wearing sister.
Eleanor looked at her other eldest sister and asked.
"so, What do you think Jeanette?"
"Well, I am a little surprised that he asked you I did not think he had it in him." Jeanette stated.
"Hey"!, I am right here!" Theodore said pointing to the floor
After spending, the entire afternoon with Eleanor and her sisters, Theodore decided, to go home.
Theo walked in and noticed Alvin on the couch and Simon reading a science book in Dave's chair. Theodore walked up to Simon, As Simon was switching between books, who was now opening a psychology book.
"Where is Dave" Theo asked Simon?
"He is in the kitchen, is there something I can help you with"? Theodore just shook his head no and walked towards the kitchen. Dave questioned as Theodore walked in the kitchen.
"Yes, Theodore?" "what is it"?
"I would like to cook an important dinner tonight". "I invited the girls over for dinner. I have something important to tell everyone". Theodore stated plainly. Dave looked down from his notebook.
"Well okay, Theodore just let me know what I need to buy".
Theodore sat down at the table. With the help of Dave, they made up a list of what they needed for dinner. Theodore looked up at Dave expectantly "Dave"? Dave looked down at his son and gave a warm smile.
"Yes, Theodore" Dave stated with a smile.
"can we stop by a different kind of store?" Theodore questioned.
Dave nodded in response.
It was nothing for Dave and Theodore to go to the grocery store leaving Alvin and Simon by themselves. The boys were now out of school and mature enough to live oh their own. In Fact, the boys, Alvin and Simon have plans on living in an apartment or house of their very own. They even considered having the girls living with them. but Simon quickly pointed out that may be a bad idea.
At the checkout, Theodore reminded Dave that he had one more stop to make. Dave, however, had no idea where Theodore was planning on stopping.
Dave reacted in surprise when the arrived.
"Theodore are you sure this is where you want to stop"? Dave asked.
Theodore nodded confidently. They sat there in the car for a moment. Dave looked at Theodore and asked.
"Do you know what this means Theodore?"
Theodore gave a deep sigh closed his eyes then looked at Dave.
" I know fully well what this means". "Marrying Eleanor is the only thing that makes sense to me". "I love her in a way that I know no one else ever could". " I know everyone sees me as the quiet, un-intelligent, shy, chipmunk, but the truth I know that Eleanor and I are made for each other on a level that others might not see".
Dave was taken back by Theodore's comment. No one had ever heard Theodore speak in such a way. It made him wonder just how much did everyone else really not notice Theodor. How much did everyone just accept him to be well...Theodore.
Dave went in and stood there and watched Theodore work his magic. Watched him ask all sorts of questions. Some of which Dave himself would not have thought to ask. Dave thought to himself 'wow he has really matured'. Dave honestly thought Theodore would be living with him for a long time. Dave now realises that was a silly idea. Who knew the most quiet one was the most mature or at least more mature than Alvin.
A half hour later…
Alvin was playing a football video game while on the couch. Simon was in his lab working on a new project, to impress Jeanette, and Dave was in the Kitchen helping Theodore.
"Okay the rolls are done you can pull them out of the oven for me Dave". Theodore said sweetly.
"Of course, Theodore no problem." Dave said.
It always struck Dave as funny that Theodore was always so, in charge, when it came to the kitchen. Suddenly the doorbell rang.
Alvin was so surprised to hear the doorbell that he dropped the remote to his game. Simon heard the ear-piercing doorbell, come over the speaker, down in his lab he dropped a beaker and a puff of black dust covered his face. "I break more test tubes that way". "Oh well," Simon sighed to himself.
"Alvin ! Get the door"! Dave yelled."Yeah,
" yeah I will get it" Alvin yelled.
When Alvin came to the door he opened, it only to see Brittany and her sisters all dressed up.
"Well,l hello," he said in his most seductive voice and wiggling his eyebrows. "And what are we all dressed up for, a wedding" Alvin joked sarcastically. Brittany giggled, Jeanette rolled her eyes and smiled and Eleanor just blushed. They all said nothing as they walked into the living room.
As they all sat down for dinner Theo, Dave and Eleanor gave, each other nervous glances and again no one said nothing. During dinner, they all talked about their day. When someone asked, how his day had gone. Theodore looked up with a nervous look than he looked at Ellie and took a big gulp, to finish his food before speaking.
"Well, Eleanor and I went for breakfast down the street at that cafe this morning and ah well -."
He looked at Ellie with a nervous look on his face once again. Next, he backed his chair out a little bit. "Then Ellie and i got to talking and ah well I ah um9" Theo was getting nervous and he started to sweat. Ellie reached over and grabbed and patted his hand looked him in the eye and nodded her head. As to say go on go ahead. Theo took a deep breath and let out a huge breath of air, which did not help, Then he stood up looked at Dave, then at his family, as he ran out of the door he yelled, "I asked Ellie to marry me".
When he got out to the front porch, Theodore had to catch his breath. He just sat there not believing that he just ran out the door. "I was so sure that I would not blow this". He thought to him-self. He sat there feeling disappointed in himself. A second later the screen door could be heard opening then closing. Eleanor came out from the house and sat on the front porch with him. Eleanor put her arm around him and then put her head on his shoulder. "You know they are still waiting for you Teddybear" Eleanor said.
"Really"? He said as he turned his head to face Eleanor.
"Yeah Alvin is staring at Brittany sitting there with a blank look and Jeanette and Simon are going nuts and Dave well he is just sitting there in shock not sure why you ran out". Ellie said. Dave knew of course what Theodore had planned and that he was asking Ellie to marry him. They both laughed at that getting a mental picture of Dave sitting at the table with their brother and sister acting all crazy, she pulled Theo into a long deep kiss. Then Ellie said, "Hey what do you say, we go in there and rescue them from themselves eh"? "Yeah we should," he said
"Yeah we should," he said
"OH! Ellie one last thing." Theodore said to Eleanor.
"Ellie this is for you." he said with a warm smile.
He handed her a ring in a green box. In it was a princess cut emerald and diamond ring. She smiled, pulled Theo up, and gave him a big kiss. Then they smiled at each other while placing their foreheads together. They did not know it but her sisters and his brothers were watching them kiss on the front porch. Brittany and Jeanette looked on.
One-year later Eleanor and Theodore were married outside on a warm spring afternoon, in a park, with the sun shining down upon them. And they lived happily ever after.
A/n: The seane where Brittany slaps Eleanor was inspired by an real life event. I had told my family I wanted to marry someone and my sister slapped me in the face! we were both supried lol.
