Her life use to shimmer. Everything was perfect, and no one ruined it. She went to school each day, then went home and did her homework, and repeated this every five days. On the weekends, she finished homework right away and read a book. She wasn't the girl who hung out with friends everyday and worried about how her makeup looked or if she looked good for the day. She didn't care if people thought she was weird. She was just loving life.

Then, Clare Edwards entered reality.

Alli had changed her. Clare wore a different outfit to Degrassi. Guys actually looked at her now, and she actually liked it. But her personality wasn't much different. Clare was still the goody two shoes that her teachers grew to love. Then, Clare won over K.C. Her first ever boyfriend, who was soon stolen by Jenna. Yet, Clare didn't do anything about it. She stayed the same.

Then, she met Eli Goldsworthy. Her second boyfriend. But at the same time she was dating him, her parents fought, tearing apart her shimmering life. They divorced and Clare acted out. She got detention, she changed her image, and she lashed out at her parents.

The shimmering ribbons that held her together slipped through her fingers and she fell to the earth. She tried to fight for her ribbons back, but she couldn't regain them. All the good things that were being held in her hands didn't last forever. The diamonds were misplaced for its worth. And Clare couldn't do anything about it, besides stand there and watch as they were misplaced.

Author's Note:

I don't own Degrassi, or the song.

Hello! I based this fanfic off of the song Diamonds by Stef Lang. I don't own the song, I just got it off of Degrassi, Love Lockdown part 2. Don't forget to review:)

Lyrics:

I was dressed up in ribbons for you to undress, All the shining shimmering things till there was nothing left, I was once upon a time something worth fighting for, Until you won me and there was no need to fight anymore

So hang on, cause the ribbon is slippingThrough your hands, and I'm falling into the earth. Misplace the diamond for its worth. Misplace the diamond for its worth.

See all the good things in your hands won't last forever, And overthrowing your power won't make it better, And you could have had all of me while you had the chance, Maybe this time I won't be coming back.

So hang on, cause the ribbon is slipping Through your hands, and I'm falling into the earth, Yeah I'm falling, yeah I'm falling, yeah I'm falling, Yeah I'm falling, yeah I'm falling, yeah I'm falling

Hang on, cause the ribbon is slipping, Through your hands, and I'm falling into the earth. Misplace the diamond for its worth. Misplace the diamond for its worth.
