Ash of a Pheonix

Fenwaya is a Soldier 1st Class. Life is good; She has friends, a job and love on the horizon. But what happens when fire sparks and things start to burn. Can a pheonix really rise from the ashes?

I sat back in my seat smugly and put my boot clad feet upon my desk. 'Oh yeah, Reno can talk the talk but he can't walk the walk' I smirked happily after hearing a satisfactory squeal. My name is Fenwaya but my friends call me Fen. I'm Soldier 1st Class and I'm currently in a prank war with the turk Reno. Normally, I don't like to take advantage of the handicapped, but there's something so tempting about his girlish cries.

"Again? really?" Sephiroth raised his silver eyebrows at me with a small smile.

"Consider it self-defence in advance" I shrugged, spinning my chair a little bit.

Angeal and Genesis chuckled, though Genesis' eyes never strayed from his current page of loveless. I think he's married to that thing. He always has it breakfast, lunch and dinner, training, paperwork, he probably slept with it.

"Er, hey guys, there's a turk outside who looks pretty angry" 2nd Class Zack said confusedly.

"If he asks, I'm not here but if I was here then I'd be laughing at him"

Zack tilted his head a little more in confusion, before nodding and leaving to 'greet' the angry red head. Zack fair; 16 years old and already had the girl swooning over him. Don't get me wrong, there's nothing undesirable about that young man, in fact he's rather adorable. But I'm not going to just drop to my knees and go all gooey eyed. Despite all this, my eyes still hadn't strayed from the door from which he had left.

"Fenwaya, let us head to the training room" came Genesis' voice behind me.

"It's Fen" I tilted my head back to look at him. His emerald eyes sparkled in amusement. By god, he's put his book down.

"I know, but I like Fenwaya." He smiled.

I jumped up with a snort, boots thudding on the clean floor as I pulled up my tight black trousers, and down my pale blue tshirt. "Come on, FENWAYA" he emphasised my name.

"Oh it's on," I pointed my finger at him, "it's on like mud on a pig". As we walked to the training area, I just hoped that Reno didn't have anything planned. If he made me lose again Gen, boy, I will whoop his sorry ass all the way to Wutai and back.
