Heat haze days

Today is August 15th.I checked my phone and noticed it was 12:30, the time I was supposed to meet Rukia at the park.

I sprinted down to the park and there I saw you sitting on one of the swings with a cat in your lap. The cat I gave you for your Birthday, no surprise you named it Chappy.

I sat down next to you. We sat there for awhile till I broke the silence. "Nice day were having" I said looking up at the clouds. "You know I kind of hate summer" you muttered petting Chappy. I was just about to ask why when you got up and started to walk away with Chappy in your arms.

As you were walking Chappy leaped from your arms and ran off. You ran after her as I ran after you. Chappy ran across the street and you followed but what caught my eye the most was the traffic light that changed to a glaring red.

Suddenly a truck came out of nowhere and hit you. I heard you scream, your blood mixed with the air chocking me. Falling to my knees I noticed a figure on the other side of the street.

He looked just like me but different. Instead of orange hair it was white and his eyes were a black abyss. He laughs "this is all real!" with that my vision faded to black.

I woke up to the sound of my alarm. Today is August 14th. Looking out my window I noticed the sun high in the sky. "Must be past noon" I muttered.

Just as I got up my phone rang "hello" I said "hay Ichigo its Rukia I was wondering if you wanted to go to the park?" you said "sure I'll be right there" and with that I hung up. I quickly got around and headed out.

As I got closer to the park I saw you sitting on one of the swings with Chappy, the cat I got her for her birthday. Sitting down I said "it's weird I saw us at the same exact park yesterday in a dream." All of a sudden Chappy jumped of your lap and ran off.

You started to follow her till I grabbed your arm "she's a smart cat she'll find her way home, let's go back and wait for her." "Idiot" you said but followed anyway. With you behind me we walked back to your house.

Just as we walked by the building that was marked as our halfway point everyone in the streets gasped and pointed upward. As I was about to look you pushed me out of the way. From the sky dropped an iron pole that went straight through your body.

All that could be heard were your screams. As I looked past you I saw the white haired looked alike. He smirked and said "this is no dream!" as my sight faded away I thought I saw you smiling.

….

It kept happening I'd wake up from the nightmare and go right back into another. Over and over you died. I tried every way to save you but it seems this kind of cliché story only has one ending…

Suddenly I jumped into the street and pushed you aside at that moment the truck slammed into me. You looked over at me tears in your eyes as my body hit the pavement.

I looked over at the look alike. shock was written on his face. I laughed "serves you right" I said with a smile. I looked over and thought I saw two for you the other looking the same as you but different. Then everything went black.

….

On August 14th a girl with black hair and violet eyes woke up tears in her eyes "I failed this time too" she said as she pet a cat by the name of Chappy.
