It was a cold winter's morning; the ground was covered in a thick blanket of snow. Children were wrapped tightly in heavy coats with hats, scarves and gloves to match. Their cheeks rosy red from the harsh wind snapping at their pale, fragile skin.
Snowballs flew like missiles across the playground hitting its target with a hard thud! Everyone stopped upon seeing one child's face. Pale and emotionless he bent down and scooped up the cold, damp snow and patting it into the perfect snowball. The moment was tense as the children watched him carefully. A wide grin spread across his face as the snowball flew gracefully from his hands to hit another boy in the shoulder. It was silent, but not for long as everyone burst out into fits of laughter and the war began again.
Up in the mountains not far from the village sat a large wolf. His fur was covered in snow with grey specks of it's fur showing. Its tongue lolled to the side in a dog like grin. A low growl rumbled from deep inside his chest as the children's laughter travelled up to him. How he longed to just run down and join in with the fun and laughter. The wolf whimpered.
Behind the wolf stood two teenagers. One boy and one girl. The girl was average in height and had long, red wavy hair. Her face was pale and freckled. She had beautiful bubbly brown eyes.
The boy was tall with messy black hair that, no matter how hard you brushed it, never stayed down. It was like it had a mind of its own. His face was slightly tanned. The boy had emerald green eyes that twinkled with mischief.
The boy wrapped his arm around the girl's waist protectively once they saw the wolf. The boy cleared his throat. The wolf, startled by the new presence of people got into a defensive position.
The wolf stared at the two with great curiosity before turning back towards the village to stare down at children having fun. The boy walked towards the wolf. "Harry." The girl mumbled softly as her hand left the boys.
"It's okay Ginny." He said walking closer to the wolf. He looked at him intently and sighed. "Sirius?" He said softly. "You can join in the fun soon. The ministry will declare you innocent when Peter is found." He mumbled.
"Harry? That's not Sirius. It's a wolf." She said softly. "Sirius is gone." Ginny said kneeling down beside him. "He's been dead for nearly two years Harry. I'm sorry." She said hugging.
"B-but he looks so much like him. I miss him." Harry sighed. "We should go. Mrs Weasley is probably wondering where we are." He said standing up. The wolf stared at him sadly.
"We'll come back tomorrow. We'll bring you some food. You look starved." Ginny said to the wolf.
Harry and Ginny looked at the wolf one more time before walking back towards the Burrow. Once they were gone the wolf disappeared only to have a haggard looking Sirius sitting in its place. It was no wolf. It was an animagus. He sighed deeply.
Harry seemed so upset. He should tell him what happened. Tomorrow he would tell him that the veil led him here. To this hill where he's lived off berries and the occasional sandwich a muggle would give him out of pity.
