"Are you sure this is safe?"
"Positive! We don't weigh much and the glider's plenty strong." Aang smiled. "Just relax and enjoy the ride."
Whimpering slightly, Katara wrapped herself more tightly around Aang as they took off. The first few minutes were the most terrifying; she buried her face in his shoulder, not wanting to see just how far off the ground they were.
But the moment she realize they weren't falling, Katara dared to look at the city below them.
"See?" Aang rested his forehead against hers momentarily, the only gesture of affection he could give while holding onto the glider. Katara smiled, looking into his eyes. Ever since they'd first found out he was the Avatar she had nothing but the utmost faith in him, faith that he would save the world.
"Yeah, I do."
Aang smiled as they continued to soar higher, almost touching the clouds.
"Don't worry, Katara, I'll always keep you safe," he said, and she didn't have to answer. She knew he would.
