Chapter 1:
General POV:
The iCarly trio is walking through the city streets toward the Groovy Smoothies craving some blue berry blitzes and strawberry splats. Meanwhile in the middle of town an old enemy is about to exact his revenge on the world that had cast him out. Cal stands at the top of the largest building at the center of town.
"They'll all pay for what they did." He murmurs to himself. He sets the timer on the nuclear device. It will go off when he is safely out of the blast radius. The timer is set; it will go off in 30 minutes. He turns to go when there is a loud noise behind him. He turns and sees a large black helicopter rise up next to the building. A voice rings out from a speaker.
"Cal, we have you surrounded, there is no escape, you are under arrest for illegal shipping and purchase of radioactive material." Cal looks up and laughs.
"Try and stop me!" he yells at the FBI helicopter. There is an officer on the gun prepared to take out Cal if he starts to run. The officer aims, but Cal is gone. He isn't on the roof anymore. He is confused until he hears a scream from the pilot's seat. The officer looks over and sees Cal holding a pistol to the pilot's head, he pulls the trigger and the pilot's head practically explodes. The officer draws his weapon and pulls the trigger, but as he does, Cal seems to implode on himself and the bullet strikes the helicopter controls. The helicopter starts to spin out of control and is going down. The officer jumps out of the opening where the gun rests. He lands on the roof of the building and the helicopter goes down and explodes on the ground. The officer stands and looks around, Cal is back at the device and he presses a button, a timer starts counting down. The officer still has his gun so he raises it at the fugitive. He pulled the trigger but again Cal disappeares and reappeares a few feet away from the device. The officer's bullet strikes it and it starts to malfunction, electricity crackling from now exposed wires. "You Idiot!" Cal yells and disappeares again only to reappear right next to the man. He grabs the officer's gun and places a fist on the man's face. The officer stumbles back and looks up to see Cal throw the weapon off the side of the building. The officer charges at him but he vanishes, the officer turns around and Cal is there to place a kick in the man's gut. He falls back and Cal moves to stand above him.
"What are you?" the officer asks him. Cal is about to respond when a loud blaring comes from the device. Cal turns to look at it and so does the officer.
"It was supposed to be a bomb, but now that you've shot it I have no idea what will happen, that is very delicate material, whatever you're bullet brings with it could change the substance drastically." Cal says. The man looks on in confusion and wonder. "As for your question, I'm an accident, I'm evolution, I'm…" another loud blaring warns Cal that the substance is about to ignite. "I'm leaving." He says and implodes on himself again. The officer doesn't know what to believe; he'd been with the agency for years and has never seen anything so amazing. He stands and looks at the device, the screen is cracked, but he sees enough to know a lot of people will die shortly, including him.
"Goodbye." He whispers to the world. A blinding light emits from the machine and the man is vaporized.
Freddie's POV:
We are walking toward the Groovy Smoothies when I see it. Off in the distance a large helicopter starts spinning out of control.
"Guys look." I say to Sam and Carly pointing at the helicopter.
"What is it?" Carly asks and they look over in time to see the helicopter explode on the ground. "Oh My God!" Carly calls out. We watch the fire trucks move in, captivated by the scene. It's not often someone sees a disaster in front of them.
"Wow." Sam says and moves closer to me, grabbing my hand when Carly isn't watching. Sam and I have been dating for a few months now and we still haven't told Carly. We continue to watch when a blinding light catches our attention on the building next to the crash.
"Get down!" I yell and pull Sam and Carly down with me.
"What's going on?" Carly asks and at that moment a huge blue field passes over us and brings with it huge gusts of wind. If we aren't flat on the ground, we will be thrown off our feet. I know this because I see two people fly by along with a few cars. There are explosions and falling trees, but the winds soon slow enough to stand and so we stand up. The sky that had moments before been blue and clear is now orange and full of smoke.
"What was that?" Sam yells. She had to yell because sirens screams and explosions fill the air.
"I don't know" I yell back. "Come on, we've got to get inside somewhere." We are heading to Bushwell Plaza when Carly suddenly starts pulling ahead of Sam and I. We are almost at Bushwell Plaza when we hear a cry for help. A man is trapped under a car that must have landed on him during the explosion. We turn and run toward him. The car is right on top of him, I have no idea how he survived it, but he did.
"Please, get me out of here." The man pleads but I have no idea how we could move a car. Sam bends down and grabs an end and tries to lift it.
"Sam you are the strongest person I know, but you can't lift a car." I yell, she doesn't listen and continues trying to move it. Suddenly, the car jiggles and lifts slightly. I am amazed, I can't believe she can do this; the car has to weigh a ton. She continues to try, lifting with her legs, breathing the whole time like she is a professional weight lifter. The car continues to rise, I am bewildered, this isn't possible. She lets out a war cry and shoot up as hard as she can. She stands up straight and lifts the car on her hands, she turns and throws it. The car flies a few yards then crashes. Carly, the man, and I all look at Sam in amazement. She has lifted a car and threw it about ten yards. She stands there panting; the man gets up and runs off.
"Come on." Carly yells and starts moving, I have never seen her move so fast, she gets a good fifty feet away from us while we are running as fast as we can. While Sam and I are watching her run, we don't notice the large piece of building above us break off and fall toward us. Carly however does, she turns and bolts at us, we never see her, she gets between us, grabs our collars and pulls us away from the falling rubble. We are all shocked. No one knew she was that fast. It isn't possible, but neither is Sam lifting and throwing a car. Something has happened, but first we have to get back to Bushwell Plaza. We do eventually make it to Carly's apartment. Spencer is hiding under the couch when we come in.
"Carly, Sam, Freddie, you're all alive!" he shouts with joy. He gets up and walks over to us and put us in a big hug. "What happened out there, was it an earthquake or something?"
"We don't know Spence," I tell him honestly, "But something happened and I'm gonna find out."
Sam's POV:
It has been a month since the explosion and Freddie is right, something is going on. I have become stronger than before and remarkably so. I try to hide it, but it is like I was living in a world of cardboard. I can't take it. The center of the blast is a crater. The rest of the city is relatively intact. So after about a week of repairs school starts again. That is a real problem, I can't touch anyone without hurting them, I am afraid to even kiss Freddie, my secret, boyfriend because I think I'll snap his neck or something. Speaking of Freddie, he's been avoiding Carly and I for the whole month, always claiming to be busy. He doesn't even come to iCarly anymore, but whenever we get there, everything is set up. One day, Carly and I are sitting in the living room when I hear something. It is a voice, Freddie's voice.
"Go to the studio." The voice whispers in my head. I turn to Carly and it is clear by the look she gives me that she hears it too. We get up and go up to the studio. Inside is Freddie along with two treadmills, a big red gym bag, a large piece of metal, and a piece of wood.
"What's going on here?" Carly asks.
"Something has happened to us and it has changed us drastically." Freddie says "Sam, you have incredible strength, Carly, you are unbelievably fast, and I have gotten much smarter, not only that but I also have some cool psychic powers and I can prove it." I look at him; shocked that he knows my secret and skeptical because it is like something out of a comic book, now I... really like my nerdy boyfriend, but come on.
"Funny, but what's really going on?" I ask him. I hear his voice in my head but his lips don't move.
"I'm serious." The voice says in my head. "Now, do you guys want to see something awesome?" the voice continues. Both Carly and I nod.
"Cool, come over here." Freddie says and we walk over to the treadmills and the piece of metal on the floor. "Carly first, get on this treadmill." He says and points at the closest one. Carly gets on and it started moving at a walking pace. "Carly, go as fast as you can." Freddie says and she starts to move her legs. She starts off slowly but builds up speed. She gets faster and faster until she is just a blur, the treadmill starts to smoke and eventually stops working and she bumps into the front of the treadmill. Her shirt has got holes in it, her sneakers have no bottoms and her jeans have worn out on the inside of her thighs. She immediately stops moving and presses her legs together refusing to take a step. Freddie reaches into the bag he has on the ground and pulls out a new pair of jeans and a new shirt. He hands them to Carly and she waddles away. She comes back in a few minutes with the new clothes on.
"What kind of clothes are these, they're really nice." Carly asks.
"Something I had made, it won't wear out like the clothes you had on earlier." Freddie explains. I wonder if my clothes would wear out if I used my powers too much. "Yes they will." Freddie answers my thoughts.
"How did you…" I started to ask but was cut off.
"I can read minds." He answers. "Can too." He says turning to face Carly. "You next Sam." Freddie says and bends down to pick up the large piece of metal. "Punch this." Freddie commands I look at it skeptically and punch as hard as I can. My fist goes through it with a loud crunch. I am shocked. Freddie lets it fall to the ground with a loud 'thud.' "Now I want you guys to put these on." Freddie says and reached into the bag and pulls out two metallic bracelets. Each has a little button and a switch on the side, I press the button and it pops open. I close it around my wrist, it is a little loose and so is Carly's. Freddie pulls out a remote and presses a button. The bracelets tighten on our wrists then we feel sharp pinches.
"Ow." Carly exclaims and I wince in pain. Freddie lifts the piece of wood and holds it in front of me.
"Hit it." Freddie says. I shrug and hit it hard, nothing happens except that I hurt my fist. I am so confused.
"What happened?" I ask.
"The bracelet suspends your powers, Carly's too. Carly try running on the second treadmill." She does and cann't go nearly as fast as before. "This is why I brought you up here. To show you that you can do great things with your powers, or if you want, I can make the effects of the bracelet permanent and you can live normal lives. This is the choice I have for you, a normal boring life, or you can use the bracelets occasionally and keep your powers to do good and be heroes. What do you say?"
What would you say? leave a review to tell me or just leave one to say you liked it or didn't like it, as long as you review, i'm cool with it.
