"Okay, turn left... Here!"
Liam quickly turned the car onto a small side road. We found an old campground and parked the car there. Everybody hopped out while Liam came around to my side. He gently helped me out of the car, lightly kissing me in the process. Liam walked us over to where the others were standing beside a river.
"Can I please swim" Zu asked Liam. "No. You don't know how, and we don't have any towels or clothes to change into," he replied. Zu gave him a look that said, so what? "Can I at least stick my feet in?" she asked. Vida cut off Liam's response before it could begin. "Sure girl. Why the heck not?" Liam rolled his eyes, but didn't argue.
I saw Chubs sitting on a picnic table a little ways away, still reading. I walked over and sat down next to him. Chubs briefly glanced my way before continuing his book. Liam was watching Zu and Vida have a small water fight in the river. He looked up and smiled at me, and Zu took the opportunity to pull him into the river. Liam fell in and was soaked.
Liam stood up and looked at Zu with a mischievous look in his eyes. He walked up to Zu slowly, as if approaching a wild animal. When he got to her, he picked her up and slung her over his shoulder. Zu screamed, but then started laughing a little.
Vida and I were laughing so hard that Chubs finally looked up. When he saw what was happening he burst into laughter with us. Liam was spinning Zu around by her arms now. Even they were laughing hard.
Liam finally put Zu back on solid ground. She could hardly stand up, let alone walk, she was so dizzy. Liam, dizzy himself, stumbled his way up to me and Chubs tripping a few times on the way. Vida and I were laughing the entire time. Chubs just smiled. Liam sat down beside me and put his head on my shoulder. I set my head down on his.
Zu and Vida finally made their way up to us, Zu no longer dizzy. Vida sat down beside Chubs, and Zu sat down on the ground below us. We all just sat there looking at the river in a comfortable silence. When the sun started to set, we got back in the car. Off to another adventure.
