"Read it again." River gritted out for at least the hundredth time.

"If I wanted schoolin I'd a gone to school." He grumbled frustrated at the crazy girl who was currently holding a ruler like a warden.

"You told the girl to teach you." She said softening her tone and pointing the ruler at the pages below his face. "Again."

"Bao bai.." He purred wrapping his rough fingers gently around her wrist, attempting to distract her in the only way he knew know.

-Smack-

And sharp slap of her ruler to his forehead was her response.

"Gorramit woman that ain't what I meant when I said it!' He shouted rubbing his abused forehead and remembering what it was he really meant.

His fingers slid along her dewy collarbone as his eyes locked with hers.

"What is it he wants?" She asked her voice low enough give him an excuse to lean in closer.

"Wouldn't you like to know." He said running his lips teasingly across her ear.

"That is why the girl asked." Her flat tone telling him he was acting like a boob.

"You could look for yourself, wouldn't mind sharing them thoughts." He laughed huskily as his lips traveled to her jaw, barely touching her. Her hands were fisted in his shirt by his stomach, pulling him closer.

"She wants you to tell her, to teach her." She murmured burying her face in his neck, her blunt teeth nipping down his throat. Jayne grabbed the back of her thighs to wrap them around his waist, feeling a pleasurable heat twist in his gut as he settled them against the wall in his bunk.

"Ain't good at teaching." He groaned when he felt her hands tunnel through his hair.

"Is he better suited for learning?" She asked coyly, biting a little deeper at the base of his neck. "Should the girl teach him?"

"Ai ren, anytime." He could feel her devious smile burn against his skin and he should've known it would bite him in his muscular buttocks.

"Again. Now!" She demanded hotly, snapping him back to reality. The mercenary wasn't sure if he liked the idea that he was enjoying that tone of her voice.

"No," He shot back at her, pulling himself away from the table.

"You should watch what you say, Jayne Cobb. You're mouth will get you into trouble if you don't." River told him, crossing her arms over her chest as she pouted like a child who wanted something she wasn't about to get.

"I think you, River Tam, are liable to get a man into more trouble." He drawled, pointing a finger at her, unable to be hold his anger when she was standing there all pale skin and big playful eyes. Suddenly her face split into a sunny smile as she wrapped her arms around his neck planting a soft kiss on his cheek.

"Now you're learning."
