POV Mulan

My parents had always wanted to have a many kids but I was the only one that survived birth. Much to my father's dismay I was a girl. A 'dishonorable' one at that, I can't hold my tongue or sere tea. Which meant I was pretty much worthless. We had many men try to trade goats and pigs for me but I always made such a scene refusing to marry him or at all that they left. And it's true I won't men are such spoiled cowards. They think they can own me. It's pathetic. You see my father's anger and mothers disappointment as another man rides of in terror.

" Bella, I told you to be quite while he was here" my father scolded.

" But offered four chickens for me" even I was annoyed at how whiny my voice was.

" That was generous of him considering your repudiation" he yelled

" Maybe it was my family heritage, I mean we certainly aren't any Cullen family" I say trying to keep my tone under control.

"That's it tomorrow you go to the match maker" with that he walked away. This wasn't the first time my father had threatened me with that. The match maker took on people who couldn't find husband or wife. To go to him was humiliating and dishonorable. The only person I could end up with would be complete loser. Not to mention you can't back out of the marriage once he sets it up.

"Mama please tell me his not serous" I turned to my mother.

"Bella, you are an adult you need a husband and since you scare away every man that comes here we have no choice"

But you do let me choose you I marry" I hoped this could buy me some time but even if I was going to marry someone I'd rather it my choice then some grumpy old guy.

"You've had years to choose but you haven't"

" please just give me a few months"

" I don't know"

" Just three months, that's all I'm asking" I pleaded.

" I'll talk it over with your father, but in three months you'll either be engaged or have a meeting with the match maker" she warned then turned to go find my father.

Great I have only have a matter of weeks to get out of this.
