Harry's Dementor Lesson
Set in Harry's Third Year
It was the middle of October,the leaves had started to fall in the Hogwarts grounds and Harry was looking forward to his first game of Quidditch. However he was concerned about the effects of the Dementors and what they could do to him if they came to close him. Fortunately he had asked for Professor Lupin's help in this matter.
It was now the 16th of October and Harry received a note from Professor Lupin during the morning owl post stating that Harry was to have his first Dementor defence lesson at 8 O'clock in Lupin's office. As the day dragged on Harry moved from lesson to lesson wondering what was in store for him tonight,he sat there in Double Divination wishing the class would end so he could get to the Great Hall for dinner, do his homework and leave for Lupin's lesson.
At quarter to eight Harry made his way to the office, he arrived at five to eight and then knocked on the door three times. " Come in Harry" said the hoarse voice of Professor Lupin. Harry did so quickly and said "Good evening Professor". "Now Harry I am going to teach you how to block a Dementor and you understand you may find this difficult as you don't usually learn this until your owl year".
"I need to learn this now Professor, if the Dementors show up at the Quidditch game and the same thing happens as it did on the train then we've go no chance of winning the game unless I'm contuse to catch the snitch" said Harry. "Okay Harry if you are sure I will teach you we will be using a Boggart for these lessons but bear in mind the real thing will be worse... much worse. Now the incantation is Expecto Patronium but the incantation is not enough you need a memory a powerful and happy memory. Have you found a memory?"
"I've got one" said Harry. Lupin opened the crate and a Boggart Dementor came flying out. "Expecto Pa, Expecto Expecto" Harry said his voice got weaker and he collapsed to the floor and heard a woman screaming. "Up you come Harry I didn't expect you to get it first time that would have been a miracle, out of curiosity what memory did you chose". "The first time I rode a broom" said Harry. "That's not good enough, not nearly good enough we will have to create a new one" said Lupin
Lupin leaned in to Harry and brushed his hair from his glasses. He then kissed Harry gently on the lips " Professor" said Harry while backing away "What are you doing?" "Giving you a new memory Harry, I think we should it a night Harry, I shall send an owl with the details of our next lesson, Good night Harry" said Lupin. "Good night Professor" said Harry and left back to the Gryffindor common room.
