Narsaksas here! :) Lal Mirch and Colonnello are just too cute so I had to write a short little two-shot about them!
Disclaimer: I do NOT own Katekyo Hitman Reborn!
Slowly they walked. For Lal Mirch it felt as if they had been walking for ages. No one talked or even attempted to break the tense atmosphere. She supposed it should be
expected. Whether they showed it or not, everyone was nervous. No one knew what to expect once they reached the top of the hill. She herself could feel her heart beating
unusually fast. She wouldn't have been surprised if the other six people could hear it with such stiff silence surrounding them. If it hadn't been for her training, Lal Mirch wouldn't
have heard the extra pair of footsteps following them. Spinning around, she saw Colonnello, guilt written all over his face. Her face turned red from blushing, but she quickly
tried to cover it up with anger before anyone noticed. "Colonnello!" she barked. "What do you think you're doing?" He avoided her eyes knowing he had been caught in the act. "I
don't like this Lal." he said. "It's too dangerous. You don't know what's going to happen!" This time he looked right into her eyes, turning Lal Mirch's face a bright shade of pink
no one could mistake for anger. Taking a few steps closer to her, Colonnello stared at her, his face serious. "Let me go instead. I'll take your place." This time, Lal really did get
mad. She didn't want him to risk his life for her! No one knew what to expect. She glared at him, making him shrink back a little, but he still held his ground. "No." she
demanded. "I was chosen for this, not you. This is what I am meant to do. Don't interfere." Even though she tried her best to keep up her tough persona, she knew it was
slipping. She turned away from him and hurried to catch up with the others who were nearly at the top of the hill by now. If she had looked back behind her, she would have
seen Colonnello standing there watching her. He knew she was scared – he had seen it in her eyes. As much as she had tried to hide it, he knew her – better than anyone else.
He wanted to protect her. He had to.
Once all seven people reached the top of the hill, each person was directed to their designated spot, forming a circle. At this point, fear and apprehension was starting to show
on everyone's face, no matter how strong their mask. They stood there for what felt like hours, even though it was probably only a few minutes. Suddenly, a bright flash of light
came from above. It blinded Lal Mirch and forced her to close her eyes. She felt something violently slam into her and knock her to the ground. Before she had time to react, a
sharp pain tore through the right side of her body. Then nothing. No bright light, no pain. Just silence, like the quiet before the storm.
Sorry it was so short. It's only a two-shot so I wasn't too concerned about the length. Please review! I don't mind constructive criticism, but please no flames! ;)
