"Electrifying".
Electricity.
Every time the Water Bender looks at him, he only feels electricity passing through his whole body.
He doesn't understand why.
He doesn't understand how the only person who has expressed strong feelings about killing him can make such a reaction on him.
Maybe is something that happens every time a Fire Bender is near to a Water Bender. Part of that something called "opposite element".
Yes, she's his opposite. She was born on the Southern Water Tribe. She grew up taking care of everyone. She helped the Avatar to find his way and, of course, she bends the water.
She's really his opposite.
But, what does the electricity means? He never felt it when he travelled on the Water Tribes with his uncle and had his "talks" with the people on them.
Well, there is a big difference.
Neither of those Water Benders was half-attractive as she is. Neither of them seems to have such a soft skin.
Oh no. Could it be possible… is the electricity some kind of attraction, some kind of crush on her?
No way!
His thoughts were still with Mai, the girlfriend he left when he decided to follow his destiny. The girlfriend who believed in the Fire Nation. The girl who fought shoulder to shoulder with his sister just because she was bored on Omashu. The girlfriend who would never understand his decisions.
Mai would never be like Katara. She would never left everything she has for an ideal. For her, comfort was first, specially the comfort of being the heir of the crown's girlfriend.
The truth is, he never felt electricity with her. He also never felt it with Song or Jin. Only Katara produce electricity in him. She's "electrifying". Just like that time back on the Ba Sing Se cave, when she touched his scar, the world banished and there were only them.
Oh no. There's really attraction. It has always been there. Since the begging of their journey.
A kind smile appeared on his face 'cause of the new found feelings that now are very clear. His happiness was so big that he never felt the Water Bender's steps and only realized she was there when she said dinner was ready.
