The Appearance to the Seven Disciples
Now children I would like to tell you a story about my first encounter with Jesus the risen Christ. I had just turned fifteen when I was walking on the shore of the Sea of Tiberias when I saw a man standing on the shore talking to some men on a fishing boat.
He asked them, "Children, have you caught anything to eat?"
They said, "No."
He then said to them, "Throw your net over the right side of the boat and you'll find something."
They did as they were told and when they couldn't pull the net back over I saw somebody jumped off the boat and started swimming toward the shore and the boat followed. The man who was standing on the shore began to gather wood to start a fire.
"May I help you?" I asked him with a smile.
He gave me a nod as he smiled his thanks. I began picking up wood. I helped him start the fire. Just as the one he called Peter arrived. I felt out of place around them so I got up to leave when the man I was helping grabbed my wrist.
He said to me, "You don't have to go please stay and eat with us."
"I'm sorry but I must go." I said to him.
As he looked into my eyes I felt warmth that I had never felt from anyone before. I felt as though my very body were on fire. As I looked deeper into his eyes I began seeing him for who he really is.
And his were just saying to me, "Please stay just a little longer."
All I could do was nod my head as I sat back down and he released my wrist. The others arrived just as I sat down.
He then said to them, "Bring me some of the fish you just caught."
They did as he told them as peter pulled the net onto shore with ease. He pulled some fish out of the net and handed them to Jesus. The others remained silent as he cooked the fish and bread. When it was done he handed me a piece of bread as he did with the fish. When I had finished I glanced over at Jesus who had gotten me in his watchful stare over the others. He gave me a nod and I got up to leave when he once again grabbed me. I leaned down and he whispered in me ear, "Thank You."
I whispered back, "You are welcome."
We smiled at each other one last time before we parted ways never to see each other again.
