Prompt: When I Close My Eyes – Kenny Chesney
Emily closed her eyes and popped them right back open again. She couldn't get the picture of Hotch out of her mind. She knew that if she didn't do something about it she wouldn't get any sleep tonight. So she got out of her bed and threw on the first thing she found which happened to be a short skirt and a tight purple shirt. She quickly put her shoes on and then grabbed her car keys and headed out of her condo.
Once in the car she quickly pulled out before she changed her mind. She knew that if she gave herself time to think about it she would change her mind and go back home and wouldn't sleep at all. She didn't give herself time to think about it on the way to his home either. She just kept thinking about how good he looked in jeans and how they fit him just right.
Once at his home she shut her car off and jumped out of it and basically ran to his front door. She knocked loudly silently hoping that she wouldn't wake up his son Jack. She loved that little boy like he was her own. She hoped that Hotch would listen to what she had to say and not throw her out on her ear. She held her breath as the door started opening.
"Prentiss what are you doing here at this time of night? Are you alright? Do you need something? Talk to me!" Hotch said as soon as he saw who was standing on his front porch.
Emily took in a deep breath and said in a rush "When I close my eyes Aaron all I see is you. I see you smiling at your son and at me. I see you laughing and I hear your voice. When I close my eyes all I see is you and the way you make me feel. I love you Aaron and I know that will never change. I couldn't sleep tonight because every time I closed my eyes all I saw was you. I knew that if I didn't come here and tell you how I felt that I would never get to sleep tonight. You don't have to say anything back Aaron. I know that you don't feel the same way as me and that is fine by me."
Hotch started smiling halfway through Emily's speech and when she quit talking he pulled her to him and held her there and bent his head and kissed her passionately before saying "I love you too Emily. I was lying up in my bed thinking about you and every time I close my eyes all I see is you. So you see we are perfect for one another."
Emily's heart skipped a beat but she pressed herself into Hotch and kissed him. She was glad that she had this revelation. If she hadn't who knows how long she would have been blind to how she felt about this wonderful man in her arms.
