I don't know what it is; maybe that one strand of hair that had fallen out of her ponytail. Or maybe it's the way she concentrates so intently on what she was working on. Or maybe it's the flour, adorably spread all over her face without her knowledge. I don't know quite what it is, but something about this moment, looking at her, I have this feeling. There's a tingling feeling in my stomach, and my heart is beating faster than usual. I don't know why, but sometimes this feeling just comes over me, always in the simplest of moments; watching her brush her hair, setting the table for dinner, her half-asleep face in the morning sun, or like right now, just watching her as she stirred together cookie dough. I don't know what about this moment is bringing this feeling, but I like it. I realized after experiencing this so many times, that this was the feeling of love. That's how I physically experienced love on a daily basis: butterflies and heart palpitations. And it sure is a great feeling. I sometimes wonder if she gets this feeling too, the same way. Does everyone feel love the same way? Does everyone get this feeling? I hope with all my heart that every person on Earth gets to experience love like this. I was so caught up in my thoughts that I didn't even realize she had put everything into the oven and cleaned up her mess, all the while I'm sitting her gawking. The pounding in my heart urges me to stand up and walk over to her. I wrap my arms around her tightly and took in the feeling of her body near mine. I can feel her breathing and I can feel the warmth radiating from her body.
"I love you, Zelda." I whisper into her ear.
"I love you too, Link." She says back. I love the sound of my name in her voice. I hold her slightly away from me so I could look at her slightly flushed face. I smile lightly and wipe the flour off of her face with the back of my hand. I then place one hand on each side of her face and kiss her lips, gently but passionately. I feel her put one of her hands against my chest and the other on my shoulder. I hear her hum happily against my lips and I can't help but smile.
"Link..." She whispers against my mouth, eyes still closed, as are mine.
"Hmm?"
"Your heart is beating so fast."
"Yeah, I know." I say between kisses "Don't worry, I'm just in love with you."
