It had already been a few weeks since he had saved the world, but Matt's mind was still in turmoil. In such a short span of time, he had gained but lost so much, and as many times as he recounted the events in his head, he could still barely believe it.
He'd found out that his family wanted to sacrifice him to a giant snake and bring about the end of the word, He'd talked to Norns, Befriended the Brekke cousins while running from a tornado and a pack of Humans that turned into Wolves, Run away with them to save the world, Met Reyna and Rey, Saved Reyna and Rey from Trolls, Portaled right into Baldwin, Met Astrid, Been attacked by Nightmare creatures, Discovered Rey and Reyna were witches, Seen Baldwin die, Been Betrayed by Astrid, Literally gone to Hel and back to let Baldwin live again, Been Betrayed again, Woke the Serpent...
"Matt!"
Matt blinked, clearing his vision as his attention fazed back to the present. "Matt, We have three minutes until your Boxing Practice! Are you ready yet?" A voice called from downstairs.
"Shoot," Matt mumbled under his breath, getting up to quickly make himself presentable. Brushing out his rumpled light blue t-shirt and swiftly slicking back his red hair with a comb, he scurried down to the Kitchen.
"Matt, I said you had three minutes!" His mother huffed a laugh, looking him over, "Now actually get ready, the coach won't judge you if you turn up late, but he will if you look like a complete mess!" Matt mumbled something grateful-sounding under his breath before racing back upstairs to his bedroom, just in time to hear his phone buzz with a notification- he had 20 unread messages? Matt grumbled, flipping his phone upside-down on his bed to muffle the noise as he went to sort out his clothes. He loved his new friends dearly, but they could sure be chatty, especially Baldwin.
