"Hey, Covey, remember the day you first kissed me?
Not our very first kiss, but the day you decided to jump me out on the track to fool that jerk Sanderson and you ended up getting into some pretty big trouble with coach.
I'm really glad it happened. I'm glad that the most ridiculous idea came to you, because honestly, who would've thought that we'd end up together. Who would've thought that you would've become my one and only real true love. I think I would've lived a pretty miserable life if that hadn't happened.
So, thank you for that, Covey. Thank you for loving me and letting me love you wholeheartedly."
Peter laughs and turns to look at her. Her dark sleek hair cascades down her shoulder and her almond eyes flutter down on him. She gives him a sad smile and gives his hand a good squeeze.
The door to the small room creaks open. A woman with light brown locks turned grey and fair skin enters the room. Her glasses slide down the bridge of her nose as she looks to Peter and her youngest daughter beside him. Peter doesn't seem to notice her presence, too busy fondly staring at said daughter. The woman whispers through clenched teeth, "Jade, what did I tell you about Uncle Peter?"
"He just started talking! I didn't say anything, I swear!"
The woman closes the door behind her, giving her daughter a look. Jade ignores her mother and turns back to her uncle. As she makes her way to her daughter and Peter, she sets his tray of food down on his nightstand before laying a hand down on his shoulder. He looks away from Jade and to her, and he gives her a warm smile. Although it seems like time has done him dirty in every single possible way, his eyes have remained the same. Crinkles and glints of mischief and kindness. Same old goofy Peter.
"Kitty! I haven't seen you in a while. What're you doing here?" Her heart clenches."You look a lil different, Kitty.. Did you do something with your hair?"
Kitty laughs. "Yeah actually. You think it makes me look old?"
Peter sheepishly nods. "Though, it doesn't look bad. But I do miss your brown hair."
"I guess I miss it too sometimes.." Time is a wicked thing. "But anyways, what were you two talking about?"
His face lights up with a grin. "I was just telling Lara Jean here that I love her."
Kitty and her daughter both look to each other before Jade gives her uncle a pitiful smile. Kitty's heart clenches just a bit tighter. Even though Peter has mistaken her daughter for her big sister for the millionth time, she just can't bring herself to explain that Lara Jean Covey was long gone. But she also can't bring herself to lie to him. So she decides to tell him a truth.
"Well-" her voice cracks. "Lara Jean loves you too, Peter. Forever and always."
It's been a while. I'm sorry, my writing/storytelling is a bit rusty. I wrote this all in one day because I just could not get my mind off of writing a fanfic for Lara Jean and Peter. I am absolutely in love with the books and the movie and this ship. (And boy, do I love tearing my favorite ships to shreds :)) This probably isn't my greatest work, but I wanted to dip my feet back into the water that is FanFiction. So, I'll probably put out a few angsty one-shots from time to time, maybe some sweet lovey dovey pieces because I don't have the time to commit to a full-blown Fanfiction unless it's like 5 chapters max.
But anyways,
Thank you so much for reading!
