Albanian Epic Poetry Dating back to 500 AD, Albanian oral epic verse has been a major part of Albanian culture. The most famous epics were told around war and folk tales. This form features 5 line stanzas of 10 syllables per line with a caesura (pause) after the forth syllable. While rhyme is often used, there is no strict rhyme scheme.
