I remember your kind smile
always looking at me with faith.
You never stopped believing
In what I grew up to be.
Even as a child,
you let my imagination soar.
I never knew a time,
when you weren't there any more.
I struggle to hold on now
not letting my feelings show.
I can't seem to forget
how you smiled down at me.
Why did it have to be you?
I sometimes ask myself.
You were my guide through life,
you were my angel of light.
You were the one
that could never say goodbye.
You even seemed cheerful
even if I refused to say goodbye.
I just want you to know now
you were always there for me.
You were my true friend,
that was always important to me.
