"Well Granger," Draco said, "If you were Pureblood, I wouldn't even bother coming in your vicinity, let alone risk breathing your air…"
"If I were Pureblood, I'd die of boredom." Hermione retorted, taking a sip of coffee. Harry and Ron looked repulsed that she was allowing this.
"If you were Pureblood, I would date you, and dump you like last night's garbage," Draco smirked.
"If I were Pureblood, I'd bitchslap you to Alaska, because I'd be immune to your father." Hermione said, just as cool-ly.
"If you were Pureblood, I'd strip you and humiliate you in front of the whole school, so you couldn't show your face in here, ever again," Draco said, knowing that he was pushing it, but Hermione wouldn't let them hurt him. She loved him. Harry and Ron were barely restraining themselves.
"Oh Malfoy, if I were pureblood, you'd just be dying to do that, wouldn't you?" she asked, looking at him for the first time in their little tête-à-tête.
"But darling, it's because you aren't Pureblood that I'm desperate to be around you, and I can't get enough of your air…" Hermione blushed. "It's for the same reason that I don't want to date you- I want to marry you." She couldn't help but cover her lips. "And it's for the same reason I want to carry you upstairs and make sweet love to you, not embarrass you. I don't think I could stand all these children seeing you before me." Hermione was now hot and bothered, blushing pink. She hadn't turned a page in the past ten minutes.
"Draco!" she exclaimed, covering her face.
Ron asked, "Can we beat him up yet?"
Draco sighed. "Fine… If full fledged passionate sex is too fast for you, what would you say to a coffee? My treat?"
Hermione nodded.
Ron asked excitedly, "We can beat him up?"
"No Ron. Yes, I'd like a coffee," Hermione smiled gently. Malfoy relaxed.
"Brilliant. I'm glad you're not Pureblood."
"So 'm I," Hermione replied.
As Draco led Hermione off, holding one hand, Ron and Harry could only sit and stare.
Awkward ending, but I think you see what I'm talking about.
