Argo

Leo's POV

I walked through the rubble that used to be my best friend. I sat down next to the core engine of the Argo II; the heart of my greatest creation. We had just gone out to pick up some Chinese take-out. Percy, Annabeth, and I had come to Camp Jupiter for our monthly meeting/get-together with the others. Ever since Jason reclaimed his praetorship in New Rome, Piper became the official ambassador for Camp Half-Blood so I was excited to see my old friends. Tonight was our last night before we headed home, and as usual we were having Chinese while watching a movie. But on my way to pick up dinner… I don't know what happened, but the explosion started from inside Argo. She just fell from the sky and crumpled to pieces. I searched the remains, but I couldn't find who or what had destroyed my Argo. And I'll admit it, as I sat next to her heart, I cried. I sat there for a minute, reliving everything I did to build her. Then, everything started to glow. The wind picked up, and pieces were flying everywhere. I wanted to reach up and pull the pieces back to me, I never wanted to let her go, but I know if I did, I'd end up losing a hand in all the shrapnel. And that would just make finding who did this all the more difficult. Instead, I curled into a ball and covered my head with my arms; my face as hard as stone.

When the dust settled and I could hear my own thoughts again (Not that my thoughts were any good at the time. Mostly of what I would do to the person who did this when I found them.) I slowly lifted my head and looked around me.

My ship was gone.

But in its place.

A girl.

She was dressed in a red tunic and black leggings with a gold belt and accents on the edges of her sleeves and bottom of the tunic. She had brown hair that fell just past her shoulders. There was also a gold dragon the size of my hand sleeping on her upper arm. She was breathing lightly and her eyelids fluttered, "Leo?" And she fell back asleep.
