This is my first Tsubasa fic, and my first attempt at writing my favorite vampire twins. This was originally supposed to be in Subaru's point of view, hence the 'friendly vampire' in the prompt, but halfway through the first paragraph Kamui took over, and I left it that way because his point of view was not only easy to write but I found it almost ridiculously funny. So I hope you guys enjoy the fic without further ado.

Place: a small cafe

Character: a friendly vampire

Object: a punched train ticket

Smell: vanilla

The cafe was warm and slightly bustling. Most of the tables were full but the customers' chatter never rose above a mild drone. It was rather soothing, in a way, and contrasted sharply with the near downpour outside. The rain was a near perfect mirror of Kamui's mood, but the cafe's vanilla-scented atmosphere and Subaru's hand around his helped to settle his nerves.

Leave it to the humans to piss him off. Typical. He'd been perfectly fine when they'd first sat down, having finally found a quiet place to sit with Subaru, with a vague sense of normalcy in the background, and discuss the tickets they'd placed between them on the table. That was when the waitress decided to bounce over to take their order. He'd disliked her at first sight, despite how popular she seemed to be to the human customers, she'd be lucky to be chosen as a snack by a starving vampire. Very lucky.

In hindsight, he congratulated himself for his self-control during her stay at their table. He'd bristled a bit when the pretty-by-human-standards little bitch tried chatting up his brother before she rattled off the list of daily specials. Then he became outright annoyed when the brat dared to ask the point of their coming to a cafe if they weren't going to get anything. As if it was her business.

It was Subaru who used a stroke of cleverness to save them. With a sweet smile, he told her they were on a business trip and weren't allowed pocket money, and only came in because of the rain. For some reason she became very giggly at 'business trip' and gave Subaru a suggestive wink before bouncing off.

As their eyes met, Kamui could tell his brother had found her just as annoying as he had. Subaru lowered his gaze to the tickets still on the table and pointed to a circle with a time printed in it, the third of four dots with the first two already hole-punched.

"If we're taking the next train, we only have half an hour to kill," he murmured. Then a corner of his mouth twitched upward. "That girl told me she's off in ten minutes."

Kamui felt a small smile of his own break out. "You up for a treat for the road?"

Subaru let out a deceptively cute giggle. "Only if you share."

I hope everyone enjoyed that, and I hope I wrote the twins well. Because this is in Kamui's point of view, the waitress is shown in a negative light, and I didn't give her a name on purpose, though for some reason I kept imagining her as Yuzuriha... It's implied she's going to learn the hard way what happens when you annoy a vampire, or better yet, a pair of them. They weren't going to bother with her at first but after a certain point you can tell where they said 'heck with it, let's get her', lol
