Abandoned
I was standing on Eckhart's rocket next to General Mustang after brother and I defeated her. I looked back at brother and knew something wasn't right. He didn't look at either of us; he just stared at the ground.
"So what now?" asked Mustang.
Brother clapped his hands together and touched part of the rocket. He separated the rocket and we were now drifting away from each other.
"Brother? Brother what are you doing?!"
I tried to get closer but Mustang held me back. I knew what he was doing, but I just didn't want to believe it.
"That should be enough alchemic material to get yourselves down" he said.
"What about you?" asked Mustang.
I was trembling and trying to hold back tears. I didn't want to lose him again after two years of searching for him.
"I'm gonna take what's left of these soldiers back to their world"
"WHY YOU DON'T HAVE TO GO WITH THEM!" I yelled
I could hear my voice cracking a bit from tears welling up in my eyes. I sounded desperate, I was desperate.
"I have to break the gate on their side, and I need you to stay here Al and destroy it on this side too so the portal can never be opened again" he said.
Then he turned away, but I didn't give up on trying to make him stay.
"What about Winry?! Don't you know she misses you too?!"
He froze for a moment, then turned to me and showed me his automail arm.
"Tell her thanks, she always made the best" he said.
Then he turned away, and didn't look back.
"WAIT! BROTHER NO! I JUST GOT YOU BACK, YOU CAN'T GO AGAIN!"
I kept calling out to him, but he ignored me and disappeared back into the ship. The feeling of abandonment took over me. I no longer held back the tears and I fought against Mustang to get out of his grip.
Memories came back into my mind of the night if out mistake. I remembered reaching and calling out for my brother that night too as I was sucked into the gate. I had the same feeling then too; the feeling of being abandoned.
