The Reason
(Set after the last 'Thunder Strangers' episode where Blake says they both have a reason to come back to Blue Bay Harbor)
AN/ A huge thank you to MzDany for betaing my stories.
"What reason do I have to come back?" Hunter Bradley asked his little brother Blake while they walked along the beach.
"Well, for one thing, our destinies as rangers." Blake said. "Another is repayment for our actions against the Winds, Sensei Watanabe, and Cameron. The final reason is your crush on Cam."
"Cam? I don't have a crush on Cameron Watanabe." Hunter said as he stopped walking to bend down and pick up a seashell.
"Yes you do. I can see it in your eyes. Every time I mention him, your eyes light up and start to sparkle." Blake said as he also stopped walking to wait up on Hunter, who was, for some odd reason, still digging through the sand for a particular shell.
"My eyes don't 'light up and start to sparkle' whenever you talk about Cam," Hunter said while digging through the sand. He stopped suddenly and grabbed the shell in front of him. It was cracked, almost as if it had been hit by lightning, but the most interesting thing about the shell was that it was a light green. Hunter put the cracked green shell in his pocket and started to put something else in place of the green shell. "So what if he's super smart, sarcastic, witty, and really attractive...ok, maybe I do like him." Hunter said, blushing.
"See? I told you. You two are perfect together, like yin and yang."
"So what if I like Cam? You like Tori way more than I like Cam." Hunter said, teasing his little brother about his crush on the Water Ninja.
"Yeah. She's so pretty, strong, smart, and great at surfing." Blake said dreamily, his eyes starting to look distant at the thought of the Blue Wind Ranger.
"Look, how about this? We'll go away for a little while, get our priorities straight, and come back to Blue Bay Harbor when we're ready, ok?" Hunter said, trying to get away from the subject of Tori.
"Ok," Blake said, "but I really think we should just stay and help the Winds."
"The Winds can handle themselves." Hunter said, starting to walk away from Blake. "Now come on, I want to be away from here before nightfall."
"Man, why does Hunter always get even more moody than he already was when he gets a crush on someone?" Blake asked the empty area around him, then ran to catch up with Hunter. Neither of them noticed a figure clothed in green or a figure in a training suit similar to their's, only with light blue trim. "Cam, are Blake and Hunter ever going to come back?" The figure in the training suit asked.
"I hope so Tori. I really hope so." Cam said as he and Tori started to walk back to Ninja Ops. Suddenly Cam stopped, told the Water Ninja he'd meet her back at Ops, and ran down to the beach. When he got there, he went to where Hunter had found the green shell and started to dig in the sand. Cam stopped when he saw what Hunter had put in the sand. It was a shell that had been painted a deep crimson. On the inside of the shell was written 'HB 1-931-583-0057'. "Huh," Cam said, smiling, to the empty space around him, "maybe he did notice us after all."
