For Her Own Protection

Summary: Oscar asks something of Jax.

Jax is more than a little confused when Oscar calls him the morning after they meet, asking him to come and see him at Kelly's. The boy sounds serious and sad all at the same time. He says it has to do with Josslyn. And that is when Jax agrees to meet him, telling Oscar he'd be there in ten minutes.

When he steps into Kelly's, the boy is seated at a table looking more than a little nervous. He walks over and takes the seat across from him, quickly ordering a tea and a BLT off of the waitress before turning his attention back on Oscar. "What is it that you wanted to talk about?" He asks, getting straight to the point, feeling impatient as ever in his worry for his daughter.

Oscar swallows hard and lifts his head to meet Jax's. "It's about something Josslyn said last night when she took me back home." He answers, ripping up a napkin. "I asked her why she didn't tell you about how sick I was. She tried to tell me it was because you were so busy. I called her out at that, told her that from what I could tell, you'd have come to see her. I accused her of trying to distance herself from people. Told her that I didn't want her doing that. That I wanted her to be happy and to love again."

Jax sets down his cup and lets out a groan. "What did she say after that?"

Oscar laughs harshly and shakes his head. "She asked me how she was supposed to do that when everyone she loves dies, betrays her, or gets hurt in some other way. I'm so worried for her. She's closed herself off before when she blamed herself for Carly going to Ferncliff. She wouldn't talk to me and she was shoplifting to feel something. Before that, she wanted to..." He trails off, blush heating up his cheeks as he wonders if he should tell the man across from him about this.

Jax knits his eyebrows. "You might as well tell me if you want me to help my daughter."

"Josslyn wanted to have sex with me. I rejected her. I wasn't ready and it was obvious she wasn't either. The thing is, I know Josslyn and I'm terrified she'll self destruct if she stays in Port Charles after I die." Oscar looks back up at Jax then, eyes earnest. "That's why when I'm gone, you have to convince her to come back to Australia with you."

Jax's jaw drops at the boy's confession and his request. Not for the first time, he feels guilt for not knowing all that his daughter had been through. His daughter is so good at keeping secrets and him not living in Port Charles makes it even easier. "Oscar, I can't make my daughter come to Australia if she doesn't want to. She has a life here. I'd have to talk to her mother." He wants to listen, though. Wants to take his little girl out of this hell hole full of violence, death, and blood.

The teen slumps in his seat. "I'm scared for her. I don't want her to lose herself."

Jax swallowed hard and he closed his eyes with a sigh. "I'll see what I can do." He promised.
