Boo is one of my favorite characters to use in the sports spin-off games. Plus, I happen to like Boos.

Another sporting event was scheduled to take place in the Mushroom Kingdom. A tennis tournament to be exact. Everyone was excited, but perhaps none more so than Boo.

For a ghost with little stubby arms he was surprisingly good at tennis. And baseball too. He had made MVP and had become a superstar during one big playoff. In fact, Boo was good at whatever sport he played. And he had the trophies to prove it.

But he never let himself become complacent. As soon as he heard about the new tennis tournament he began practicing. Day and night the little ghost trained until Boo felt confident of victory.

The day of the match dawned bright and fair. Boo flew to the stadium and the first person he met was Luigi. He waved cheerily to the green clad plumber as he called out to him.

"Hey Luigi! Nice day for a tennis match, huh?"

Luigi jumped and looked around. He spotted the little ghost and gulped nervously.

"Oh. H-hello," he stuttered in reply.

Boo merely looked at him curiously.

"I, uh, didn't know that a Boo was coming to the match today."

Boo gasped in shock at this. A Boo? That was it? No recognition as the sports star that he is? The little ghost sagged in dismay, barely floating above the ground now as if weighed down by his emotions.

"It's me...Boo. From the other sporting events. Remember? It's not my fault that we all look alike," he sniffled.

Luigi's jaw dropped as he realized his faux pas. He suddenly felt ashamed for the mix-up. Though he and Boo weren't friends, Luigi still felt like he should make it up to him.

"I'm sorry Boo. I didn't mean it. Really. It was an accident. I...,"Luigi trailed off at a sudden loss of words.

The little ghost's eyes were starting to fill up with tears. Now the plumber felt really bad. He had confused Boo with a different Boo and made him cry. Now he really had to make it up to him.

"Please don't cry. Hey, I know. Why don't we be partners in the doubles tournament?" Luigi winced inwardly after he had said this. How would he explain this to Mario?

Boo wiped his eyes and looked up in disbelief. Hardly anyone ever wanted to partner up with him. Usually people were too scared to be his partner. Only oddballs like Petey Piranha ever took up the offer to be his partner. Never someone like Mario or the princesses. And certainly never Luigi, who Boo knew was afraid of ghosts.

"Do you really mean that?" he asked uncertainly still not believing he had heard what had been said correctly.

The youngest Mario Bro. gulped and nodded nervously. A huge grin spread across the little ghost's face. Boo bobbed up and down in happiness before flying around Luigi a couple of times.

"I have a partner! Yay! Let's go enter," he crowed before flying off to the registration booth.

Luigi smiled and shook his head as he slowly followed. Maybe it wouldn't be so bad being Boo's partner. After all he wasn't a bad ghost or anything. And as for Mario, well, he'd figure out someway to explain the situation to him.

A bit of a stretch, I know, but the pair actually works in Mario Power Tennis. For me at least. Please review.
