A/N: A random plot bunny that popped up while reading Scision's newest one-shot, "I Dropped My Toast"
She's under my favorite authors, go check it out (and her other stuff too, they're cute & funny!) :)
"I dare you."
"Well, when you put it that way…" Sirius Black picked up a chocolate candy that had been sitting in the corner of the kitchen for who knows how long and popped it into his mouth.
"Still tastes good!"
"You're sick, Padfoot." Sirius' best friend, James Potter grinned at how stupid his friend could be.
"You would have done it too, Prongs."
"No, I wouldn't have."
"Yes, you would. I'd bet a Sickle that you would have." Sirius ran out of the kitchen and came back a few minutes later with something in his hand. He held it out for James who gave it a disgusted look.
"What the bloody hell is that?"
"A cracker of some sort, I think. I found it under one of the couch cushions. I bet you a Sickle that you won't eat it."
"Take the Sickle, that's really gross."
"A Galleon."
"Fine." James put the old cracker in his mouth and took the Galleon from Sirius. "Hey, what do you know, it still has flavor!"
When Remus stopped by later that afternoon, he was greeted by the sight of his two friends sitting on the floor of the kitchen with pieces of bread next to them. To his horror, Sirius lifted his up, showing that his piece was jelly-side down and saw that James' was butter-side down. The two ripped their slices in half and exchanged so they had a bit of both breads. As they started putting the jelly bread to their mouths, Remus cried out.
"What do you two think you're doing?"
The two boys looked at him and grinned. "Trying to see which one tastes worse, Moony," Sirius said as he licked some of the jelly off the bread.
"Personally," James said when he was done eating. "I think that buttered-side down bread tastes worse than jellied-side down does."
"Damn, me too," Sirius said, throwing his friend another Galleon.
Remus walked out, deciding to never lend his friends money for food again.
