My Salvation

It was a normal night in Chinatown. Well, saying it was normal would be a lie. In Chinatown, it's never normal, and I mean never. My name is Firewings, Firewings the dragon. I live at Wu's Garden with my friends, Sue, Sid, and Tobey. Nana too. They were all out on deliveries. I had run quickly and finished my deliveries, like I always do, and went to the garden, where I am now. See, it's around now where I take my own time before Nana takes the kids for training. Wondering what I do with that time? I sing. Music, singing. My salvation. My savior from the chaos around me. They all think I'm rock solid. I'm not. No one is. Everybody needs something to help them escape the world. Music is my passion, almost like fighting, but bigger.

I hopped onto of the Scholar Stone, and looked up at the star sprinkled sky. It was absolutely beautiful, you should've seen it. Night time was always a friend to me. The dark enveloping me and it's silent. No one can hear me. No one is there but me, the way I like it.

"Swallowed up by the sound of my screaming, cannot seice for the fear of silent nights. Oh how I long for the deep, sleep dreaming. The goddess of imaginary life…" I sang smoothly.

"In my field of paper flowers, and candy clouds of lullaby. I lie inside myself for hours, and watch my purple sky fly over me." A voice sang from behind me. It was familiar, smooth and… beautiful. It sang every note perfectly.

"I linger in the door way, of alarm clocks screaming. Monsters calling my name. Let me stay, where the wind will whisper to me. Where the rain drops, as they're falling, tell the story."

"If you need to leave the world you live in, lay your head down and stay awhile. Though you may not remember dreaming, something waits for you to dream again."

I looked back to see someone I never, in a million trillion years, thought to see singing.

"Nana? Since when did you start to sing? More importantly, when did you start singing Evanescence?" I asked.

"I hear you singing all the time." Nana smiled at me. A faint blush covered my cheeks.

"You hear me sing?" I asked quietly. Nana nodded.

"You're very talented." she grinned.

"Thanks…" I smiled. There's something about Nana that just keeps me guessing. I'm sure there are thins that she knows about me that I don't even know. Maybe I have some learning to do. Music might not be my only salvation. Nana is too.

Authors note:

First story! Yay! Had to put Nana in it cause she rocks. XD

Anyway the song is Imaginary by Evanescence, the version from Origin. Love the song, love Nana. w00T.
