It was truly a lovely day for a picnic. The sun was high, the sky was blue and better yet, Arthur was so busy with work, he failed to notice one missing colony. Canada. The poor young boy was missing Francis quite a lot after he was given away to Arthur. Arthur wanted Matthew to have no contact with the one called Papa. Angus thought that was a load of shit. The poor lad had gone through enough already, and not being able to see Francis any more was obviously depressing the boy. So that's why Angus decided to write Francis a letter, simply stating to meet him at his property because he wanted to treat him to a picnic.

Of course Francis was excited at the idea. A romantic outing with his dear Ecosse. There was something about that red head that made his heart flip. As rough around the edges Scotland was, that man had a lot of charm that would make him feel giddy as a young maiden. The idea of swooning into his arms was very ideal for Francis. The thought of being held close in those strong arms made him blush and sigh out with a dreamy look on his face. And to think, this romantic connection started with their dislike of England.

Now, it wasn't really hard to quickly scoop up Matthew. Scotland was beginning to be a common face around Arthur's place after he got the boy. Arthur allowed his older brother to visit, mostly because Angus seemed more interested in playing with Matthew rather than going around trying to pick a fight. He didn't see any harm in Angus's visits. It helped him be more focused on the more energetic twin, Alfred. So it came to no surprise that no one saw Angus walk in and then walk out of Arthur's house with Matthew perched up on his shoulders. He didn't really care if Arthur freaked out once he found the boy missing, he would deal with it later. This visit was more important.

Angus would always remember the look on Francis and Matthew's face when they saw each other. How they ran up to each other and hugged tightly. The poor boy was in tears with the emotions he was feeling. Francis was able to calm him down but it was easy to see that he had his emotional tears threatening to roll down his face. And of course after that, Angus was attacked with a flurry of kisses from Francis, his arms wrapped tightly around his neck. Matthew was standing right between them, trying to hug them both. Let's just say, the picnic was a huge success.

EXTRA:

There was a huge smile on Angus's face. He was the happiest man on Earth. Walking down the park path he gazed over to Francis, his lover and now Husband, and smiled. They were not holding hands because between them was little Matthew. The boy was holding each of their hands, swinging his arms gently. The three of them looked like happy family. Looking up at the two, Matthew smiled widely like an angel and said, "I love my Papa!" turning to Francis. His head then turned to Angus and added, "And I love Boban too!"

"`

Laying out on the Picnic blanket, Francis watched Angus sleep. His little Matthew was tucked under the other's arm, sleeping into Angus's side. Gazing up on Angus's face, he noticed a sleepy but happy smile crossing his lips before breaking into a wide one. At the same time, the arm that was cradling Matthew moved up to stoke the boy's head before letting it stay there. Francis couldn't help but to smile happily and aw out.

He had to wonder just what Angus was dreaming about.

((Boban means Daddy in Gaelic ^^ ))

My little headcanon about Uncle Scotland is that there were times that he dreamt that Matthew called him dad.
