The Soft Side of a Teenage Heartthrob

Chad walked into the Cafeteria with a frown on his face.

Portlyn walked over to Chad with a worried look on her face.

"Hey Chad how's the best actor of our generation doing?"Portlyn asked.

"Just fine." Chad said sarcastically as he rolled his eyes.

"Well good morning to you too Mr. Grumpy! What's wrong?"

"Nothing." He said turning away from her worried stare.

"Sonny trouble . . . again?" she asked true concern in her voice.

"No . . . well maybe, it's just I'm so confused I love her but how can I explain this to Sonny?"

At that moment Sonny walked by, lucky for Chad she only heard her name. "What about Sonny?"

Chad got up from his seat and gave her his famous cocky smirk," how to explain to Sonny-"

"How he feels about you." Portlyn blurted out.

"How you feel about me well isn't that obvious you hate me."

She said looking as though she was on the verge of tears.

Chad picked up Sonny's hands and placed them in his. She looked up at him as he stared down at her pure disgrace filled his dark blue eyes. "Sonny, how could you think that?"

By this point all heads were turned to face the drama happening over at the Mackenzie Falls table. The drama was usually tacky and predictable but this was reality not television this could go anywhere.

"I-I" Chad inhaled some well needed air who knew telling Sonny how he felt would be this tough! "You think I hate you but the truth is the exact opposite I have completely and utterly fallen in love with your personality, your looks, your bubbly attitude and the way you can always just walk into a room and cause every face to crack a smile."

Sonny was speechless; she couldn't believe what Chad just told her. She looked him straight in his eyes filled with hope and tears slowly rolled down her pale cheeks.

"Sonny what's wrong? Did I say something wrong? I knew you wouldn't feel the-"

Chad was cut off by Sonny's lips capturing his in a romantic kiss. "Chad I love you too. I love you more than any two people have ever felt for each other. You stole my heart the first moment I met you, even if I looked like a freak in that fat suit and waitress outfit. All your rude comments just made me more excited every time you had one of your nice moments. And this nice moment is my all time favorite of those moments."

"Well I would hope so!" Chad said in his usual arrogant tone.

"Well hello sarcasm." Sonny said smiling her signature cheesy grin.

"Shut up and kiss me!" he said smirking and pulling her closer to him.

They kissed until their lungs needed air. After that breathtaking kiss the room went silent and the cafeteria began to clap a round of applause. About half the people were thinking 'finally' while others were paying each other money from bets on how long it would take for them to get together. Sonny and Chad held each other in embrace until they had to part to go back to rehearsal. For each it was the single most magnificent moment of their lives.
