I was walking one day in a park and saw a beautiful woman. She had golden-brown hair and the most captivating eyes. No, they weren't brown, green, grey, or blue. They were a blood red.
"Do you ever wonder what happened to the old gods?" She suddenly asked me. It was such an odd question. "No, I guess not. We were never your gods, nor do you even think of us as gods anymore. Just past myths.." She continued.
"Ra still battles Apophis each night, though your people have polluted Nut, Geb, and Shu to the point where you cannot see the battle." The gods existed? Then who.. Who is this woman?
"Anubis and Ammut still carry out Judgements for Osiris in the Underworld. Horus carefully watches over the many wars your people start. Isis tends to act as a nurse or a midwife to help the women of this time. Khonsu watches over the night with Nut while Thoth teaches your people all over the world. Set still rules over the deserts, though your people are learning how to work with him. You probably see the gods often, though you do not recognize us.."
I finally gathered the courage to ask the woman for her name. She only smirked before fire sparked in the grass and quickly surrounded us like a fast growing wildfire. "I am Sekhmet. Goddess of Fire and Revenge.. Drinker of Blood. Though our time as Gods is over, your people have abused what we continue to give you. Now we shall claim our world again..."
Those were the last living words I heard before the flames consumed me. I then saw before me a large crocodile like monster...
