Chapter 1
"Nick what are you going to do with your day off tomorrow?" Sara asked while they both were in the locker room getting their things so they could go home. "I don't know, probably just sit around and relax, what about you Sara?" "Maybe I'll catch up on my reading." "Sounds interesting." He responded. "Well I guess I'll see you in a few days." She said before walking out of the door.
Nick had like Sara for a while but never had the courage to tell her nor even ask her out on a date. Nick gathered his things and headed for the parking lot. As he was searching for his keys he heard Sara's voice "No, Catherine I haven't told him I like him yet,…' Cause I'm afraid of what he might say back."
He looked around the parking lot and noticed Sara leaning up against her vehicle, cell phone in her ear, and staring at the ground. He was a little confused about what she had just said but then a thought crossed his mind. "I bet she's talking about Grissom." He shakes his head and gets into his vehicle. "Now I know, I can't ask her on a date, she's in love with Grissom." He sighs heavily as he looked at Sara once more, he turns the key and begins to drive off.
Sara turned around to see who it was she threw up her hand in an attempt to have at him, but he didn't see her.
Nick arrived home and unlocked his front door and shut it behind him. He then looked over at the picture sitting on the entertainment center, it was of him and Sara at the crime lab Christmas party. He picked it up and then said out loud "God Sara I love you more than anything, I just wish I had the nerve to tell you before it is too late." He continued to stare at the picture not knowing that across town, in her apartment, Sara was staring at the same picture. She began to cry, "Nick I love you so much but I wish I could tell you that."
