Ezra's POV
I was helping Sabine with her latest spraypaint art. We didn't have any missions lately so I decided to help her
I have made the decision that today would be the day she knows my feelings towards her. "Sabine?" I called
"Yeah?" she replied while spraying the wall
"I-" I took a deep breath and let truth tumble out. "I h-have a c-crush on you"
Sabine's POV
"I-" he paused " I H-have a c-crush on you" he said and I stopped spraying immediately. He might be joking
so I tried to laugh it off
"You're joking, right?" I stared at him in disbelief. When I saw his blushing face turned serious, I knew he
was serious
Ezra's POV
"So... any angry feelings?" I asked after a long awkward silence
"Angry? Why would I be angry?" she asked,confused
"Oh, you know,'cause I'm younger than you" I tried to keep it cool
"Kid, I don't mind you being younger than me" she said
I gaped at her before silently breathing a sigh of relief
"Why?" I asked without realizing. I mentally punched myself in the guts. I swear,
I need to sew my mouth sometimes
"Because... because...because I love you too!" she closed her eyes as she said it
Sabine's POV
"Why?" he asked. I don't know, Ezra, I thought to myself. Up to that moment, I completely wasn't
sure of my feelings for him
"Because... because..." I closed eyes as the words came out."Because I love you too!"
That seemed to have taken all his anxiousness and hesitation away because before
I knew it, he kissed me.
"Thank you" said Ezra after we broke away. After that, he left. I continued doing my artwork
but this time, I was smiling. I never noticed that I drew Ezra and I on my bunk until I finished it. When
I noticed, I silently blushed and smiled. I love him. A lot.
Ezra's POV
I walked back to my bunk, smiling. Zeb noticed me and started teasing me. " Whoa! Why is your teeth
suddenly so white?" He exclaimed as he pretended to shield himself from my teeth
"I brushed them" I simply said, still grinning
"Seriously though, why exactly are you smiling like that?" he asked
"Oh, you know, birds are singing, sun is shining (Divergent reference)
"Kid, we're on a deserted asteroid and it's night time! There are no birds or sun" he said.
He then mumbled something that sounded like ' I swear you need to go see a doctor sometimes'
I rolled my eyes " Whatever and I heard whatcha said" I turned around and walked to one
of the cannons to observe the stars instead. Life is great, even with the Empire around
