Dear friend

Chapter 1

Ethan

Dear Friend,

My mom promised that my pokegear would return from the repair shop today. That's a good thing, because I need that for a favor I promised to Professor Elm.

No! Not that kind of favor! I promised to pick up something from Mr. Pokemon for him, nothing at all like that!

Anyway, he mentioned something about giving me a pokemon to help me out, since I'll have to walk through a lot of tall grass. Though, I have a feeling that little baby Spinerak and Ratatta will hardly me any travel trouble.

A close friend of mine, Lyra, showed me what types of pokemon Elm has in his lab. She helps out in the lab on occasion, so I can trust that she knows this stuff.

She said there'd be a water-type, a grass-type, and a fire-type.

My mom kind of wants me to take the fire type, but for some reason, I really want the water-type.

Lyra has a Marill, which as you might know, is a water-type, and she seems really happy with it all the time. Even though it does run around aimlessly and occasionally wanders off.

I really hope that the water-type the Prof. has isn't as dim-witted as Lyra's Marill.

Please don't tell her I said that. Ever.

Now that I think of it, maybe my water-type and Lyra's Marill will get along greatly. I hope they do, because that's definetly better than both our pokemon completely hating each other.

Lyra's been one of my closest friends since nursery school, and she's the only person in all of New Bark town who actually thinks that I could amount to something. It's nice and comforting that she feels this way, and at this point, I really feel the same way for her. I guess everyone needs something to believe in.

I have to go now, it's almost 9:15 and I promised I'd be at the lab at 9:30.

Hope you have a nice morning.

Over and out

-Ethan

PS: When I become a stronger trainer, I really want to battle you someday. Unless you don't have pokemon, then we can just fist fight.

So... yeah... this is not meant to be taken seriously.

After reading The Perks Of Being A Wallflower, I really got attached to the whole 'writing as a letter' format, so I thought, why not try it for myself?

I'm not trying to steal, I just wanted to see if I could pull this off.

And if I did, RAISE THE ROOF! GET A CONSTRUCTION WORKER TO RAISE THE ROOF!

If I didn't, then tell that construction worker that the roof isn't going anywhere.

When I write these, just note that I'll either be writing as a character recalling a day, aka, a scene that happens in a game, or just as a character explaining their thoughts and feelings.

Some might be sad, some might be funny, and some might be touching.

Some might even have some continuity.

And if I'm writing as a gym leader, or someone who barely has any talk time, then a lot of headcanons of mine will be written in. (Message me if you for some reason wish to learn more)

Well, I guess that's it.

TheOceanspray99, out!
