Prologue:
The lab was dark and stingy; mangy and cold. Edmund Covert's eyes shimmered and he began to laugh like a mad man. He began to shudder and twitch. He turned to the man next to him. "You!" he growled. "Go to hell!"
He clenched his fists. "You have destroyed me. Taken everything from me. And you expect a thank?" he yelled. But then he laughed. "No. No sir. Never. You took away...EVERYTHING! All that I had. But I still have something left. Something you would never think of in your wildest dreams."
He laughed madly again. "No. It is mine. Something you...you and your people cannot take! And it will be mine! And it will continue the job for me. And I will regain what I lost!"
Edmund clumsily grabbed a knife from the table, and dragged it across his skin dramatically. Blood poured. "You will witness the death of a great man! A great man!" he cackled.
He then grabbed a test tube. "No!" the man shouted. "Edmund!"
But he was too late. The tube was empty and clattered to the ground, next to Edmund. Edmund followed it, collapsing. With his last breath, he said, "I will get my revenge..."
