Ally's P.O.V.
Birthdays weren't really a big thing for me anymore. I never really had a big sweet 16, so I expected nothing this year, 17 wasn't very significant. Savannah was really my only close friend here; I mean yeah there were a few acquaintances whom I never really spoke too, but no one really there for me.
We lived in a small town in the middle of nowhere. There were 14 houses to be exact, a small park in the middle where the neighborhood streets met, a few stores and a movie theater. The only mall around was 15 miles North of us in a small city. Our house wasn't very big, at the time we barely had enough room for me mom, dad and me, let alone the new baby that would be here in about, 9 weeks, though my mom didn't seem panicked.
Since there was barely anything to do, boredom was a normal thing here, especially during summer vacation. Savannah was only 3 days younger than me and she was having a small party at her house this weekend, and even though it would be much I was still excited to spend time with her. For most of the summer she had been visiting family in Chicago, leaving me with no one here.
"Ally!" My mom called across the house. "Yeah?". . . . .No answer. I grunted and sat up off my bed making my way downstairs. My mom was leaning against the kitchen counter her hands set on her swollen belly. My dad sat at the kitchen counter trying to hide a smile.
"Sooo..What's up?" My mom shot a look to my dad and he instantly stopped smiling. "Well, we were thinking, since we didn't get to do much for your birthday last year, and its coming up real soon, that it would be nice to go on a family vacation." Finally both of them release the giant smile they were trying hard to hide. I on the other hand was as confused as a watermelon in a basket of apples.
"Wait, so we are going on vacation? When?" I was Excited but nervous at the same time, so I sat down to keep from shaking and possibly passing out.
"Yes, we will probably be leaving on Saturday…"
"But that's Savannah's birthday party" I cut my mom off abruptly, worried that I wouldn't be able to attend the party I had been desperately anticipating. My mom let out a sigh before speaking again. "If, you would let me finish-" "sorry" I mumbled. "- then you would know that she will be coming with us."
My eyes lit up. "But" I frowned, buts are never a good thing, ever. " She won't be staying the whole time since I would like to have just family time too"
"and a lot of it" My dad mumbled. I shot him a confused look, but before I could ask him what he meant my mom cut back in. "Yes, anyway, we are going to California for the rest of the summer and we have a few birthday surprises for you there, but you should start packing soon, we leave in two days and you have to help Savannah pack too, you know how long it takes her" I smiled and nodded, Heading back to my room. I flopped down on my bed and decided to call my best friend.
S- "Hello"
A- "Hey aren't you like, bursting for excitement?"
S- "Umm, for what?"
A- "For California, Duh!"
S- "Oh right, yeah of course I am"
A- "What's wrong, you sure don't seem very excited"
S- "oh no I am, I'm just focused on some other things at the moment"
A- "Oh, okay, how about I come over and help you pack, mom said I should"
S- "Sure, if you want to, oh by the way did you know Austin Moon lives in California, what if we see him"
Suddenly Savannah sounded very excited. She was over obsessed with the pop star, but I couldn't care less about him.
A- "You have only told me about a million and three times"
S- "haha right, sorry"
A- "its fine, see you in 10?"
S- "Yeah, bye!"
A- "Bye"
I hung up and got out of bed and quickly changed, sliding on my flats a t-shirt and some skinny jeans.
"Mom, I'm heading over to Savannahs be back later" I called walking downstairs. "Okay, be safe, have fun!"
I walked out of the house and hopped on my bike and took off towards her house.
Austin's POV
"Thank you, Seattle!" I yelled out to the crowd that was mostly occupied by girls, screaming and jumping, holding up I Love You Austin Moon! Or Marry Me Austin!
Trust me I loved my fans, but sometimes a pop star needs a break too. Jimmy Starr gave me the rest of the summer off for all my hard work, so now I can surf, go to the beach, and just hang with some friends back in California.
I walked back to my dressing room, wiping the sweat from my forehead and plopping down onto my couch. Soon enough Dez joined me to filming what he called, the start of our best summer ever, but I didn't think it would be the best summer.
"Come on cheer up bud" Dez said, his voice full of excitement just waiting to get home. I knew what he was talking about, and I had hoped he wouldn't bring the subject up, especially now, but he sure managed to.
"Dez, I told you I was over it, I'm done, she's done, and we're done" I made sure to use a stern tone to show him that I didn't want to talk about it and he seemed to catch on and left, going back to his dressing room.
I stood up and grabbed a bottle of water from my fridge and guzzled it. MY plane left in about two hours and my things were nowhere near packed, instead, they we thrown around the room in a complete unordered fashion, and honestly, I didn't even know where to start.
I closed my eyes and took a deep breath and planned out how I could make this happen. I decided I would start in the far left corner and make my way from there, making it a bit easier to handle. Before I could even start I gave up, plopping back down on my couch and calling Dez since I was way too lazy to get up and get him next door.
One hour later
We were on our way to the airport right on schedule, and if it wasn't for my very helpful redhead I would still be in Seattle. When we arrived fans were coming at me every which way, that is, until my security guards stepped in, making everyone stop and only linger for about 2 minutes until their parents dragged them away. I laughed to myself and made it through the rest of the airport safely and soundly.
Once me and Dez boarded the plane and took off, I was already drifting off to sleep, anticipating California more every second.
