Hi story lovers! It is my first fairytale fanfiction ever! This fairytale of Little Red Riding Hood is for a contest with Akiko142. So this is my own version of the story:
Little Red Riding Hood's Adventure
Once upon a time, there was a little girl named Red Riding Hood. One day on a hot summer's afternoon, Red Riding Hood was out in the fields having a picnic with her grandmother.
After they ate some freshly baked cake Riding Hood's mother made, her grandmother said, "I am going home to have a rest now. You can come along later and do bring me some more of your mother's freshly baked cake please."
After a while Red Riding Hood started to set out for her grandmother's house, she started down the lane when suddenly she heard a rough voice from behind her.
She froze in her steps when a giant ogre appeared, who said, "Good day, my dear child. Where are you going?"
"I am going to my grandmother's house to take her some cake," replied the girl.
"Where does your grandmother live?" asked the wicked ogre.
"She lives across the field and down the lane."
"Good!" said the ogre, "I will come too and accompany you."
Little Red Riding Hood was not afraid of the ogre anymore, he seemed to be very friendly.
They walked on and soon saw in front of them a field with beautiful flowers of all colours were in bloom, the girl bent down and picked as many flowers as she could hold to bring for her grandmother.
Meanwhile, without saying a word, the ogre quickly continued on his way to the grandmother's house.
The ogre knocked on the door but there was no reply from inside.
He knocked again and called"grandma it's me, Little Red Riding Hood," trying to disguise his voice and sound sweet, but still nobody answered.
Hmm, thought the ogre, so grandma must be out! I will wait till she comes back.
Then he kicked at the door and it flew open!
The ogre went inside and closed the door behind him. Soon after he heard footsteps- somebody was coming. He decided to be quiet and hide behind the door.
It was Red Riding Hood. She knocked on the door and called, "it's me grandma, open the door!" There was no reply so she decided to go straight in.
As soon as Red Riding Hood opened the door, the ogre jumped up from his hiding place, leaped at the poor girl and gobbled her up before she could even shout out for help.
The ogre licked his lips because the child tasted so delicious!
He felt still hungry so he climbed into bed to wait for the grandma to return. The ogre didn't realize that he'd fallen asleep and was snoozing loudly.
Grandma soon came back and was terribly surprised to hear snoring coming from her house. She quietly opened the door and immediately found an ogre asleep in her bed!
She forced herself not to panic and hurriedly ran out again to call her neighbour who was a hunter for help.
Luckily, the hunter was home, then immediately gathered his sharp knife and scissors so he could cut open the ogre's belly and rescue Red Riding Hood!
The little girl was so happy to be safe and alive, she couldn't stop trembling.
Grandma thanked the hunter again and again for saving her precious granddaughter's life and asked, "would you be so kind to stay and I will make tea for all of us."
The hunter replied, "sure, I'd be glad to have your company."
So, Little Red Riding Hood, her grandmother and the hunter all sat down for a lovelyafternoon tea!
The End!
