PIPER
I sat on the grass out looking the sea. Everything was calm, even the lake was calm. Poseidon must be in a very good mood. I was thinking about the quest, Jason, ad the sacred number when Annabeth sat next to me.
"Watcha' thinking about?" She mused.
"I over heard you talking to Chiron once. About the sacred number of the Greeks; and when Percy, Grover, Thalia and two other Hunters of Artemis were sent on a quest and only three came back," I replied. Her breath tightened at my mention of the sacred number.
"Well don't worry. Things will turn out fine." The minute she said that, I knew she was lying.
"Annabeth we both know that four of us might, or will die. No use in lying," I grumbled. She just gave me a look of sympathy and said,
"The Three Fates, they have to be fair. That's why we think they are cruel. This is the second great prophecy, they might give an exception."
I smiled and said, "We still have many more days to come. It would be best if we cherish it."
"Such a smart daughter of Aphrodite. It would be a waste if some stupid guy let you go," Annabeth said, sighing at the end. She then stood up.
"Piper, if Jason has another girl at the Roman Camp, don't worry about t. Things will go as they are supposed to." Annabeth said; Piper replied with a grateful nod.
Annabeth left to go check on how the Argo II was going.
I looked at everything around me. Come to think of it, I am quite lucky; I have a huge family, even though I'm a half-blood at least I know I'll never be alone. My train of thoughts was interrupted by a certain Son of Jupiter.
"Hey Pipes," he said.
"Hi Sparky," I replied grinning at his nickname.
"Who came up with that nickname anyway?" He asked.
"I don't know, but I guess it was Leo, a.k.a. Repair Boy." Jason laughed at what I said.
"What? Why are you laughing? Do I have something on my face?" I rambled on and on; I even said it in one breathing.
"Nothing, I mean he was destined to build that ship so doesn't that make him the captain or somewhat father of it?" he thought out loud. I just smiled and said, " I know he is but I still want to call him that."
My smile slowly faded at the thought of the Roman Camp, Camp Jupiter.
"Jason," I said, he nodded as a sign that he was listening, "when we get to the Roman Camp, we (meaning you, me and Leo), would still be best friends right?"
"Of course! Piper, what made you think that?" He replied, bewildered.
"It's that you have another family over there. Old friends and all and I'm glad I met you. Thanks even though four of us might die because of the stupid sacred number, at least I know we'll be friends till the end." I gave him a smile and he replied with that grin that made me fall for this dense idiot called Sparky.
I stood up and ran to the Argo II screaming, "RACE YOU TO THE ARGO II." All I heard next was a thoughtful "HEY! THAT'S NOT FAIR!" from none other that the Son of Jupiter; one of my best friend, the guy who took my heart. Whose nickname is Sparky. I'm partially lucky, lucky enough to have a family, someone to lean on.
All is not yet lost. I still have many days to live, might as well cherish the moment, good or bad. Oh and by the way, I lost. Jason flew to the Argo II while I only ran and he was grinning widely like an idiot when I came up panting, still I smiled at him. Even if I lose him as my one true love, I still have him, at least as a friend – no a best friend.
