Rated just a K, I think ;).
A/N: Another one! Yay :)!
What did you guys think of tonight's episode? At points I was grinding my teeth a little bit and really hoping that Andy's dad didn't do it, but on the whole I thought it was pretty interesting; with a lot of awesome character interactions. But what about you?
Anyways, on to Andy! I hope you enjoy!

Andy McNally. Set after 'To Serve or Protect'.
It's absolutely insane.
As soon as Luke walks away from you, it hits you how ridiculous this all is.
You're a cop. Your job is to serve and protect … but ever since Sam pulled that gun from your dads coat and announced that it had been fired recently, you've been doing a whole lot of unfair protecting and not a lot of serving. No matter who the dead body is, and who the 'suspect' is, it's your duty to investigate everything; you don't get to pick and choose.
(Not that Sam's fierce determination to keep your name untarnished isn't fully appreciated; it's not like you don't know how much weight that simple act held … it was huge, really. But it's a moot point in the end, because you're disappointed in yourself for going along with it.)
You're appalled at yourself.
Because you've dedicated yourself to this job; you've been held at gunpoint, and shot at, and you've killed someone for this job. You've done it all for the people of Toronto. And even if this time around, the murder victim is a rapist/murderer who shouldn't be on the streets, by trying to protect your father (and by extension, yourself) you've failed to serve the city as a whole.
Because if you compromise your integrity by failing to be impartial, you're not only failing yourself; you're failing every innocent citizen on the street that you've sworn to serve and protect. (That's what you're supposed to do; both, not one or the other. In the oath you swore to, it says and … not or.)
You don't have much time to think about it, because in the seconds that follow Luke's storm out, Sam walks up the hallway behind you with important news.
But you have enough time to know that you have a lot to think about and sort out; because you can't go on like this.
