Sora watched her from a distance.

She was only just sitting there in the sand, near the shore, her feet in the water. What was left of small waves brushed and splashed up against her calves. The setting sun complimented the shining water.

Sora felt there was something wrong with the scene.

An ordinary and simple girl who was only trying to live her life; but so fragile. Sitting down by the water, just staring out into the water and thinking.

She did this a lot. Think.

A loving sigh escaped from Sora's lips. If you knew her you would probably ask him so many questions. He could most likely answer a lot of them, but...there was also a lot that he didn't know about this girl.

His friend Jade.

She didn't want time to pass. She didn't want things to change. She never liked having to say goodbye. She never liked leaving.

She was confused about herself. About the world. About the people and things around her. She had so many questions about herself and everything else. She spent her days, her time alone, just sitting and thinking. She always picked the most beautiful places to think.

Just like herself.

To Sora she was the most beautiful and delicate being out there. And to Sora she was everything. Because to Sora, she was the one he liked the best.

Because to Sora he'd rather die than to hurt her. To Sora he felt like a hero, and she was his heroine. And to Sora he never wanted to let go of her.

With an inhale he brushed some tree leaves aside, stepping out of the jungle brush and plodding his way down the beach and to the shore.

She must've been so deep in thought she didn't even sense his presence, as he took a seat next to her and stared out at the sunset. It was a good five minutes before she turned to him, "Sora..."

"What's on your mind?" he asked, also turning to her---her chocolate eyes shining up at him.

"A lot," she said quietly, turning her gaze to the setting sky once again. "I've been thinking about when I'm going to see you again. Thinking about why fate's deciding to just tear us apart..." He saw her rub at her eyes. "I hate goodbyes, Sora. I hate them so much."

The last time she left she hadn't even said goodbye to him. She just left. But things were different.

"Maybe...maybe things were supposed to be like this from the very beginning," Sora murmured, as she sniffled a little.

"I wish time could just stand still. Just for a little..." she trailed off, her voice becoming shaky. "I just want more time with you, Sora."

Next thing he knew her head was resting in his lap as she sniffled again. With a humble and soft face he brushed some hair out of her face.
"You're my sanctuary."

"You're mine," he replied.

"You're my hero."

"You make me feel like one."

"I love you," she whispered.

"I love you, too."

The next thing he knew she was making her way down the shoreline, becoming nothing more than a mere speck in the distance.

And then she was gone.

"Goodbye..."
