The light had been in her eyes the first day they meet. It was what caught his and Fred's attention really. Here eyes had a light in them like nothing they'd ever seen before. It was like you could see the personality in them.
Her eyes were constantly lit up, it didn't matter how angry or melancholy she was. Even though her eyes were always bright they always got brighter when Fred was around if that was even possible. All of her friends loved her bright eyes. Her eyes cheered them up even when she was upset. They were one of those things that made Katie, well, Katie.
Her eyes were bright every signal day. No matter if it were raining or shining, no matter if she was in a fight with her friends, or getting along with them perfectly; her eyes always shone. They shone in the midst of the war and they shone the very brightest when Fred finally told her he loved her.
Her eyes were shining when she ran into the great hall to see her husband. The man whom she had eloped with and planned to have an official ceremony with after the war was over. It took two seconds, right then, for all that light to leave her eyes. She looked at her husband, her true love, her best friend, dead on the ground. In that one fleeting moment the light of her eyes left and those who loved her feared the worst.
The light was gone from her eyes the day she told them the news that Fred had been so excited about; the news that she was pregnant. They had decided not to tell anyone for three months just to be safe, but when it was time to tell them he had already been gone almost two months. They continued to fear that the light would never return.
The light in her eyes returned when she had Camilla. It was the name she and Fred had agreed on. Everyone was glad to see the light back in her eyes but they knew it would never return to full brightness.
