The first day

This is my first fan fiction so please try not to hate too much but give me some advice on what I could do better.
I don't own any of the soul eater franchise no matter how much I wish I did but I don't.
It was 8:30 in the morning and Maka was already in her clothes for her first day at the DWMA (Deaths Weapon Mister Academy) she didn't even eat her breakfast. Maka rushed through the streets of Death City so she could be the first to pick a weapon. On the way she saw that Black Star had the same idea as her.
"I bet I can beat you to the DWMA Maka" Black Star screams.
"In your dreams Black Star I will get the first pick at the weapons" Maka screams back with excitement as they race through death city they notice that they are not the only people rushing to the DWMA. They start picking up the pace so they are the first ones there, as they get to the DWMA they see that they are not the only people wanting to get the first pick of the weapons. It takes a while for Maka to get to the entrance to the place but eventually she gets in. After some time she walks into this room with a piano in it and a weapon waiting for someone to come in.
"Hello I'm Maka who are you"
"I'm soul evens I am a scythe and if you want to choose me as your weapon then listen to me play, this will show who I really am and then you can make your chose". He starts to play the piano furiously with all his soul put into it. He stops playing and looks at Maka.
"Well"
"I think it was really good I think we should be partners from now on"
"Ok I think I would enjoy being partners with you"
"Cool you can move in with me in my apartment so it would be easier to train and go to school together"
"I would like that let me go get my stuff and I will meet you at your place later"
"Ok it is 10 death lanes"
"I will be there soon" soul says as Maka leaves the room.
