I wanted to do something so here's a teaser of a story I want to start very soon! Also, I do NOT own Zero Escape: Virtue's Last Reward. I do own MOST of the characters in this story tho. I do NOT own all of them! Well, actually... the ones from the actual game aren't even here yet but I'm disclaiming them now.

It was a late evening inside of the library. Quiet too, everyone else had already gone home. But not her. She couldn't tear her eyes away from this story.

The library itself was large with bookshelves in every corner and more on an upper floor. A labyrinth of knowledge any bookworm would happily get themselves lost in for days and days. She sat at one of the tables in the center of it all. Her long brown curls tied back in a long braid and that long braid tied in a bun. Only a part of her hair let out of the braid, framing half of her face.

Her eyes studied the play set out before her. Most people knew of this play, loved it but she felt... connected to it. As if she were reading her own biography but also not. Why should she? Nothing connected her to this play no matter what she thought. Or might have thought.

Then she heard it.

Footsteps shuffling ever closer to her silently. Almost imperceptible. But the library was empty save for her and the librarian. Though, she was certain the figure approaching her was not Mrs. Holmes. She placed a bookmark inside the play and closed it, holding it close to her chest. "Mrs. Holmes...?" she called out just loud enough to be heard by the figure. The footsteps stopped... and then re-started.

"Mrs. Holmes is that you?" She asked a little louder now, moving closer to the figure. Then she could make out a silhouette of them. The frame was tall and broad, the face circular and... something seemed to be covering it. She edged closer to get a better look.

Suddenly her legs gave out beneath her weight, the play crashing to the floor in front of her. Her eyelids suddenly felt heavy and trying to stay awake was like trying to lift a thousand pound weight. She became aware of a thick white gas seeping into the room. It was easy to breathe and smelled sweet. Her head collided softly with the carpet.

The figure moved into her line of sight. It was cloaked and wore a gas mask to cover the face. She tried to look it dead on but it was getting harder and harder as the strange gas filled her lungs and dulled her senses. The figure bent and picked up her book.

"Romeo & Juliet...." it chuckled silently. "You have been selected to play a game. The Nonary Game. I do hope you make it out alive..." it convulsed into laughter. The voice wasn't distinctly male or female, the mask altering the voice and making it hard to distinguish.

The... Nonary game...?

What's... the Nonary... game...?

Before she could find answers to her questions it all faded into white.

So many questions; not many answers but I'm happy I was able to write this. I'll probably change the title tho. Leave a review if you please. This story is also up on my Wattpad! (Musicstarnc) but as a Fanfiction it should be here as well. Thanks for reading! XD
