Runt of the Litter
Summary: Spike and Molly. It's just too cute, I can't resist.
"Molly, you should get out of here." Spike said.
"But…you're hurt. Kurt…he….put you in the ankle lock…."
"Yes, he did. But, I don't want that to happen to you, Molly. I really care about you."
"I know. But…."
"And if your cousins find you here, or my brothers, you'll be in trouble."
"I know. But…." Molly repeated a frown on her face.
Spike chuckled. "But…."
"But," Molly quickly continued, "I'll see you later, right?"
"Yeah, you can count on it." Spike said with a grin.
"All right, Spike. See you later. Get that ankle checked out."
"Yeah. Kurt had no business messing with you." Spike said angrily, his ankle throbbing in pain.
"Oh, Spike. " Molly sighed.
"I hope Shane McMahon kicks his butt for what he did to you." Spike said, sounding almost bitter. Molly had never heard Spike sound bitter before.
"I hope Shane stays out of Kurt's way." Molly said worriedly. "He'll get hurt. Just like you, Spike."
"Sure. He beat the Big Show…. And why should Shane do it when I can do it?"
"What?" asked Molly.
"I'm going to get Angle for…everything!" grumbled Spike.
"Oh…Spike! What's wrong with you?" asked Molly, exasperated.
Hearing Moly's worried tone, Spike quickly said, "I just…. I don't know. I'm in a bad mood. I'm sorry, Molly. I really won't go after Kurt; I promise." Spike said, his old cheerfulness returning, even if it was a bit forced.
"Oh. That's good. Turn that frown upside down." Molly said brightly.
"I will, Mol." Spike promised, starting to feel better already.
She smiled then, that beautiful smile that Spike just couldn't take his eyes off of. She really brightens my day.
"I'll see you later, Spike." She said as she walked away.
"You too, Mol." Spike said, watching Molly go.
Spike smiled to himself. I may be the runt of the litter. I may not have beaten Kurt Angle. But I have Molly, and that's enough for me.
