"Welcome home, Moony."
"Padfoot?" Remus asked confused.
"Yup." Sirius said with a grin.
"But you're dead."
"And they call you the smart one." Sirius said rolling his eyes.
"I never did understand that."
"Prongs?"
"The one and only." James said smiling.
"Am I dead?" Remus asked in a whisper.
"Yes." James said.
"No, no, no." Remus said. He shook his head as he paced. "I can't be dead."
"I'm sorry, mate." Sirius said looking sincerely sorry. He stared as his friend continued to pace. It wasn't easy for any of them.
"No I can't be. Teddy." Remus said his head snapping up. He sunk down to the ground.
"It's going to be fine." James said as he patted Remus' shoulder.
"No, it won't be. My son won't have a father. He'll be lucky if he has a mother." Remus said into his hands.
"You have a kid?" Sirius asked sadly.
"I can't be dead." Remus repeated. He looked at Sirius.
"Moony…" James started but he was at a lost for what to say to make his friend feel better. James knew what it felt like to loose a son so suddenly.
"I can't leave him like this."
"When did you get married?" James asked in an attempt to distract Remus.
"Screw that, who'd you get hitched to?" Sirius asked pushing James aside and interrupting Remus' answer.
Remus smiled and really looked at his friends. Sirius and James both looked like they did before that dreadful Halloween night 16 years ago. They were healthy like nothing ever happened. He looked down at himself and he looked the same age as them.
"I got married last year."
"And you had a kid already, you move fast Moony." Sirius said laughing.
"At least my kid wasn't in the wedding." Remus said looking at James.
"Anyway, who was the lucky lady." James asked.
"You know her." Remus said smiling. "And it's not anyone you would expect."
"So McGonagall's out." Sirius said thinking.
"Aw, that's just gross, Padfoot." Remus said as he and James shuddered.
"Just tell us Moony, before he guesses again." James begged.
"Nymphadora Tonks." He said looking at Sirius.
"You married Sirius's cousin?" James asked shocked.
"You knocked up my little cousin?" Sirius asked equally shocked.
"Yes. And do you have to say it like that?" Remus asked.
"Well you did. So how did you die?" Sirius asked.
"I'm not sure, I think that I got shot with a killing curse but I don't know by who."
"Where were you?" James asked, shocked.
"Hogwarts, this was it. It was the Final Battle."
"Did Harry win?" Sirius asked.
"I don't know. I didn't even make it to the end." Remus said sounding embarrassed.
"That's nothing, I survived Azkaban, over a hundred Dementors but I was killed by drapes." Sirius said.
All of them laughed. It felt like they were in Hogwarts sitting under their favorite tree. Like nothing had changed.
"You shouldn't worry about Teddy." James said suddenly.
"Why not?" Remus asked.
"Because he is your kid. He will be able to survive anything. Not to mention he's a Black. He will be just fine. Trust us." Sirius said.
"I know he will be fine, but I wish that I could be with him." Remus said sadly.
"We all do." James said putting an arm around Remus' shoulder.
"Come on." Sirius said throwing an arm around Remus' other shoulder.
The walked off, friends even in Death.
