We've finally meet our end, after a long time anticipating.
It was not a surprise. We knew that we were his number one target. We knew that he would not let us live so freely. Not while being his biggest threat. We've done everything we could to conceal us from him, and most of all, to protect you.
Yes, you, dear. This may be too hard for you to comprehend now, but you will understand everything soon enough.
The Fidelius charm that we've casted upon our home had hidden us well. It bought us more time to watch you grow before everything gone horribly wrong. You are our happiness, our little joy in the midst of this chaotic world. Like the flame in darkness, you gave us hope that everything will be better. You gave us strength to fight until the very end.
By now, our other plan must have gone out as expected. The ancient charm, that is our fail safe way to protect you should all else fail, and as much as we hate to say it, it had done its job beautifully.
Don't think that our lives were too short. No life is short when it had experienced extraordinary things. We've loved, we've cried, we've sing, we've danced, we've fought, and best of yet, we've had you. We've lived our lives to their fullest, and we do not regret any moment of it.
Yet there are things that we would miss.
We're sorry that we wouldn't be able to be with you in the future. We're sorry that we wouldn't be able to accompany you through the greatest moments and achievements in your life. We're sorry that we wouldn't be able to see you grow up into the mature and confident man you will be. But you must know that no matter what happened, you are our son, therefor you will forever be in our hearts.
Take care, Harry. And don't you worry about us. We've now gone to a better place. A place where they can't hurt us. They can't hurt us anymore.
