it's like 2 am and I've been reading those fandom secrets or whatever they're called and I decided I needed to write a fanfiction! Here is the spawn of my minutes, written with a post sick mind, and I've noticed that the later it gets the more inclined I am to using big words....

She fell headfirst fully expecting him to catch her.

She didn't realize he'd be too dense to understand what was going on. Sakura couldn't just force him to leap into love. She had to coax him slowly, even though she thought it was better just to jump in headfirst, which is probably why her past relationships failed.

The truth is, is that he knew what she was doing from the beginning. Kakashi didn't want it. He loved her sure, but she was too good for him. He was too old for her. He was going to get himself killed on some mission and leave her alone. Kakashi would repeat the litany of reasons to why they couldn't be together whenever she came over to woo him. His defenses would crack just a little bit more whenever she smiled. Her smile could break down any of his walls. Mostly he was afraid of getting hurt; he hadn't done this love thing in a long time.

Everyone else knew what was going on; About Sakura pursuing Kakashi, and about him failing to resist her. Tsunade had started an office betting pool against them as a couple just so they had a winning shot together. She even started giving Sakura and Kakashi time off at the same time, so they would get to spend more time with each other.

When the last vestiges of his wall crumbled, Kakashi saw a multitude of futures laid out for them. They mostly ended in death and destruction, and one little future in the back, barely visible, that showed them happy. He was shocked when it actually happened. The white wedding that was perfect, even though he had to pay for it. The two months of vacation was even better, they just went camping and rejoiced in the solitude.

Sakura wasn't surprised. She knew he'd catch her eventually.
