The Vow
Annabeth took a deep breath and let it out as she stared at the water. Ever since Percy disappeared she had developed the habit of walking along the beach every morning before the other campers woke up. It always made her feel closer to him. The water looked amazing this morning. It was a brilliant green and smooth as glass; Percy would have loved this she thought. Being the son of Poseidon, he loved water but especially the sea. She closed her eyes, reliving the times they had spent together on the beach arguing, laughing, chasing after each other and basically having the time of their lives. After the Titan war, she had thought they were going to have some peace; as much peace as demigods could have. Instead Hera had kidnapped Percy, erased his memory and sent him to Camp Jupiter,a Roman demigod camp, replacing him with Jason, a hero from the Roman camp. This was all in a bid to get the two camps to work together to defeat Gaea and the giants who wanted to destroy the Olympians. The strategist in her recognized that the plan was ingenious but the rest of her, the part that missed Percy terribly, couldn't bring herself to forgive Hera. Annabeth opened her eyes as the tears she'd been holding back began to fall.
"I'll find you Percy" she vowed "Then I'll never let you go". She wiped the tears from her face and squared her shoulders as she turned back and headed towards camp. She had a long day ahead of her.
So this is my first fan fiction and I'm not much of a writer so let me know what you think. Any and all suggestions are welcome and I'm so sorry it's super short. Hopefully I'll do better next time. Thanks for reading!
